Yes, I realize you can get help in your video games on any site, but I thought it'd be cool to get some community help. So, post a game question or answer one. If this does well enough I'll type out an article for it.

I'll post a few questions

1. Final Furlong -Arcade- Anyone have any tips to play this better?
2. FFX- Anyone know a good techique for lightning dodging?
3. Chrono Trigger- $90 bucks for a copy. Recommended?
4. Best fighting games?
5. Koei games. Any fans out there?

4. Soul Calibur and the DBZ Tenkaichi series are good fighting games

To answer your third question, 1ce, ... definitely. I am not as hardcore about Chrono Trigger as Lantis is, but I still think of it as one of the best RPG's made to this day. It is especially worth the ninety dollars if you are referring to the Super NES version, whose minor differences from the PS1 version make the Super NES version slightly better in my personal opinion.

.... Sorry I do not think I have enough knowledge to accurately answer any of the other questions; I never developed a technique for avoiding the lightning in FFX, and the only game I've played that I was aware belonged to Koei was the original Dynasty Warriors, so I cannot call myself a fan. ^_^

2. FFX- Anyone know a good techique for lightning dodging?

Hmm....the only technique I could refer is pause the game about every ten to twenty lightning strikes and take a break. This mini game drove me crazy, but it is possible to power up Lulu's Onion Knight weapon to full potential without going too crazy. :P Hmm....3 so far, now just 197 more to go.....easy. :(

Edit: Forgot to mention, when dodging the lightning, make sure you press the dodge button shortly after the screen flashes. :)

5. Koei games. Any fans out there?

Ooohhh, me, me!! I, for some odd reason, love these games. Samurai Warriors, Dynasty Warriors, Kessen, you name it, I love it!! These games, besides Kessen I, II, and III, are also great co-op games.

To be honest, I wasn't impressed by Chrono Trigger. I wouldn't pay 90$ for it.

As far as lightning dodging goes, stay near the south entrance so there's no chance of being struck on the way to save. Save ervery 10 or so dodges. To be honest I never finished this, or the butterfly thing.

In my opinion Virtua Fighter is the best fighting game. Second would Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

I love Koei games. The fact that every magazine hates them just makes it that much sweeter. GI gave Warship Gunner 2 a 5 of 10 because "you move to slow in the beginning". I hate magazines. I really wish Gamestop would give you the Edge card without the subscription.

GamePro will pay.
They know what they did.

Thanks for the responses guys.

If you'd like to post questions, you may feel free to.

1. Seeing as how nobody could help me with Final Furlong, does anyone here ever played a horse racing game other than me?
2. What's a game you own few other people own?
3. Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits! Anyone play this excellent game!?
4. Current game you're playing is:
5. What your ratio on new:used video games bought?
6. Are you really picky on scratches on your games? Or do you just care that it works?
7. Cartidges or CD's. Which do you prefer?

1. no
2. the one that stands out the most is Steel Battalion
3. Just the demo tho I own it and all Arc games, and I prefer the PS1 Arc games
4. Orange Box, Ridge Racer 6, Puzzle Quest
5. Hmmm in the past few weeks I bought 3 used games and 14 new games
6. I am VERY picky. Before lending a game out I check their games for scratches.
7. Disc all the way. I know some people would say its anal and redundant but I back up all my games so they can all be thrown in a cd case and I don't have to worry about scratches or space. If it gets scratched I just make another.

1. Wanted to try a horse racing game but conditions were never right (need to find it for inexpensive price, have few other games to be presently playing, etc.)
2. Dino Crisis 3? E jay Clubworld? Fighter Maker 2 :lol
3. No
4. Jade Empire, Ace Combat 5, RPGM3
5. Bought 2 used games for the first time in a long time. I am a new game whorror. Ratio new/used is something like 20:1, but I buy most of my new games on sale, and especially when they have dropped to $15-$30.
6. I hate scratches but accept small ones on used games. I won’t buy a used game with bigger scratches no matter what. I am less picky about small scratches if the used game is $7 and I plan on playing it soon (to test it), than if it is a hard to find more expensive long game that I want to store to be played later. I just bought Baitan Kaitos and it is 2 discs. I ain’t really going to be able to test the second disc until way later, so I probably won’t be able to take it back.
7. Serious (not sarcastic) question: Why would anyone prefer cartridges?

Hmm...this statement is false.

You see, if you save and then load your game, it starts over from dodge number one, plus if you have the ability encounter-none, it will make life easier. :)

I couldn't agree more.

In fact, if I didn't already have a copy of the SNES version while still having the PS1 version, and a multitude of different versions of roms, I'd still pay $90 for the cartridge.

Oh, and just a little FYI for other CT fans. There has been a directly translated rom patch from the original japanese Chrono Trigger. The text is actually quite a bit different. Definately worth a go through.

(and before anyone starts shaking there finger at roms, remember... they are perfectly legal if you have a hard copy of the original.)

1. I've never even considered playing a horse racing game.
2. As far as I can tell I'm one of the few people with Killer7, the best game ever made, and I don't know anybody with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. I guess Mischief Makers is also more rare than I thought.
3. I used to have that game, traded it in without beating it if that's any indication. Not bad per se, but very mediocre.
4. I'm tearin' it up on GH3, and playing Ratchet and Clank Future while I wait for my hands to stop bleeding. I've also been getting back into Diablo 2 while I wait for school year to be over and be able to play WoW again.
5. I used to buy practically only used games, but I haven't gotten any in a while.
6. I'm picky about scratches on PS2 onward, but on Saturn and PS1 games, scratches are a given, so I only care if the game works.
7. I like CDs, but I sorta miss big bulky cartridges. They were easy to take care of, and getting them to work was half the fun.

As far as the lightning dodging goes, I was honestly just feeding you what the Brady Guide says, like I said I never actually did it.

3. Absolutely! It's an amazing game! If your a fan of RPG's and a fan of Square than you will definitly enjoy this game!
Chrono Cross however was kind of dissapointing to me,
but I gave Chrono Trigger a 9.5/10

4. Not a huge fan of fighters, but I would say oldschool mortal kombat's, and Tekken lol.

5. eeehh, not really. The first Dynasty Warriors was okay, they didnt need to release the same game like five or six times though.
but that's just my opinion =P
