I've been playing Terranigma off and on... It seems to be alot more like Soul Blazer than Illusion of Gaia. But that's not a bad thing at all. It's got the whole, go into a dungeon and free souls and resurect towns, thing going. And so far, only one of the boss battles was really just kind of dumb.

I also want to point out that for a SNES game, it seems really advanced. Any time you unlock a continent or revive a species, there is an animation that is really nicely done.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll probably have it beat by next week or so. I've got Grandstream Saga on the way. maybe I can keep this up enough for G.U. 3 to release in America. ^_^

About 2/3 of the way through X-men Legends 2. Fun game, especially since I keep making friends play off and on. Basically just level'd up nightcrawler a bit. Full Sword master, and crit, and the first skill, with plenty of energy = one shotting every single group I come up against. Also maxed out Master of Chaos, so I 1 or 2 shot every boss I come up against....Was really disappointed that the game won't let you play on hard mode until you've beaten normal mode. Not sure if I'll play through a second time.

I've finally spent some time on Budokai Tenkaichi's Ranking mode.
It can get a little hard at times but, Super 17 has my back :lol
This is probably the last mode I really need to get the fun out of since
I'll stop playing after I complete everything at 100%

I have long since finished playing Terranigma. And it was a good game. I'd say that Illusion of Gaia is a bit better than Terranigma, but it's still a good RPG that one sould play through if they are fans of active time... and as I stated, I moved on to the "next in the Gaia series"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_series

Quote:
The Granstream Saga

The Granstream Saga was made by Quintet and shares similarities with the previous games, such as the theme of regenerating the land.

The story follows a young man called Eon who must stop the sky's continents from sinking into the ocean.

<rant>

First of all, Enix didn't even make the game. Second of all... there is no mention of Gaia at all. There is nothing that this game has in common with the other three titles. And if that isn't enough... the game blows a hot steamy load of suck.

You don't get a bit of experience from fighting... in fact, you get squat. So you spend most the game walking around enemies that are to retarded to walk into you. The way you get level is all through the story. You can not level up yoruself you can only be at a level the game allows. So if you find fights too easy or too hard, tough... You have MP but you can't re-fill it by sleeping at an inn. You can only do it by using items. SOMETIMES when you defeat an enemy, it will restore some MP... but you won't have to waste it if you don't hit the enemies... you are going to level up reguardless of how little you fight.

And here's another thing... the story is about as gay as it gets. There are some of the dumbest ideas I've seen yet. For example: You run into a "good" scientist. Eentually, you run into him again... but oh no! It's his EVIL TWIN! Actually, it's not his evil twin... it's his evil HALF. According to the game, you can have so much good and so much evil in one person that they split into too diffrent people... and if they tried to re-unite... they would explode. That's right... blow up. Like freaking C4 style. And all the NPCs and characters are like, "Oh... that makes sooo much sense". I think it would be a challenge for us here at the Mag to make plots in our games worse than this...

Battle is about as dumb as it gets. You only fight one enemy at a time... and you are targetted on them at all times. You can walk forward, back, and strafe... then you can attack. It doesn't get any more in depth than that. Well, you can block... and even use magic. But the spells are so costly and do so little, it's litterally pointless.

Also, the game has you running pointless errunds like like in Dragon Quest 8. But even worse. You are in a town with many people and you can progress in the game unless you talk to a towns person who says really nothing relivant to what you are doing at the time. It happen throught out entire game. I had to use a walkthrough for every step of the game that wasn't in a dungeon.

Speaking of dungeons.... there was nothing to them... you just walk through them... no puzzles... nothing other than enemies and treasure chests. The only thing that changed was the scenery.

I'm not sure who wrote Granstream Saga into that wiki... bu it is blasphemy and taints the other three titles. I give this game a 1/10 and suggest you stay far away from it. If you can somehow link the creators of Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma to Grandstream Saga, it would be only by inane points EVEN IF ENIX MADE THE GAME. The moron who put Grandstream Saga on the same page as those other wonderful titles needs to hang himself with a playstation controller... but he's probably so dumb that he'd try to do it with the PS3's WIRELESS controller!

As of now, the game lays in shards on my floor as an overly powerful enemy sent be back over an hour of gameplay of which had no save points in between. He wasn't even a boss... It is by mercy that the cd gets out with only that much. It should be taken and sent to the depest darkest corner of the earth (which is probably a Regal Hole) to rot with all the other disapointments in video game history.

</rant>

*takes a deep breath*

I'll probably be moving on to the newst Atlus title, Odin Sphere. I'm trusting after playing such a let down, that ANYTHING will seem better...

Glad to see there's another Quintet fan in here other than me. Illusion of Gaia rules, and Soulblazer is great.

Too bad about Grandstream though.

But hey, that's why rpg maker is around, so we can do better.

Been a while since I posted in this thread. Anyway, here is what I've been doing in games since then:

Super Mario Sunshine: Beat it with around 80 shines. I don't know why people don't like this game, I thought it was great. Give it an 8/10

StarFox Adventures: Had this game since forever, and I finally beat it. I thought it was good, but the story was a bit weak. Also, this means I've beaten all of the StarFox games! 7/10

Elite Beat Agents: Bought and beat on all four difficulties. This game is crazy awesome. I just wish there was more songs. Or a sequel. 10/10

Spider-Man 3: Bought it the same day I saw the movie. I beat this too. The webswinging around town is the best part. 7/10

Transformers: The Game: Beat the Autobots' storyline, and I'm playing through the Decpticons' story. This is a pretty cool game. 7/10

Anyway, my Wii wasn't playing Wii games, so I called Nintendo and they said that it was a problem with the disc tray. So I sent it to Nintendo and they should have it back to me between 2-3 weeks. :(

On the plus side, I've had my PSX, FF8, and Chrono Cross from my friend for a while, so I decided to continue my Chrono Cross file. Only to find out that my friend saved over it! :shakefist It really sucked because I was at the part where
I was on Fargo's ship as Lynx and I had to fight in a monster tournament, and that was the farthest I had ever gotten.
So now I've started a new file while I'm waiting for my Wii to come back. I'm at the part where
you have to go through Viper Manor the first time. I picked Nikki for my guide and my party is Serge, Kid, and Poshul.
Some time before that I had rented Shadow of the Collossus for PS2 and I managed to kill six of them before I had to return it.

FFXII I'm not really interested in it at the moment, but I still like the game. for Wild ARMs 4, I'm at the final dungeon, but I don't know what to do so I put that on hold right now.

And Terranigma goes right up there with both of them...

Too bad its only remains are shards in the garbage? Or too bad it sucked worse than a shopvac?

It would take little effort to make something better than Grandstream Saga...

Defeated the first Cipher Admin in Pokemon XD. She was tough. Lost the first time on account I went into the fight without healing beforehand.

Sorry, I'm used to GameFAQs' board. They don't have an edit button.

Anyway, I encounted a problem with Chrono Cross. I made it to Fort Dragonia and I deactivated all six of the light beacons. I also made it to the top where you fight
Viper and Lynx.
My game managed to make it past the first FMV, but it froze during the second one. Not only did my friend erase my file, he multilated the disc! I cleaned it, and I'm going to try it again tomorrow. If it doesn't work, then I'm gonna have to get a new copy.

Yeah, I'm playing with him atm... we named Norris "Chuck" ^_^

Anyway, I guess my gaming concentration is being spent on Guitar Hero II right now... That's until I pick up Odin Sphere.

*FINAL FANTASY XII RANT BELOW!*

Well I got Chrono Cross disc buffed, and it still won't work. So now I'm kind of casually playing Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy XII. I haven't beaten either game.

Legend of Dragoon Status:
Party: Dart, Shana, Lavitz
Level: 12
Location: Just about to save Albert from Frugel.

Final Fantasy XII Status:
Currently on my way to the Feywood to find Giruvigarn(sp?)

The thing about FFXII, is that it has really good graphics, gameplay, music, and voice acting, but the plot is boring. It started out really good, but as the game went on, the storyline got shoved aside. And when the storyline does get some focus, it isn't enough. At the most, you're going to get 20-25 minutes of story for every 3-5 hours of level/gil grinding. It feels like that just when the game is ready to have the plot take center stage, you get sent right back to wandering around and grinding. It's kind of a bummer, because with the way everyone was praising Matsuno, and with his work on Final Fantasy Tactics, and with all the other FFs having a strong focus on story, I was expecting a grand epic to take center stage.

Not only that, but I feel like I don't know what's going and why such and such a thing happened, but I'm chalking that up to not paying enough attention.
