I remember a lot of people complaining about this game.

I saw this vid and I laugh my butt off. Has anyone played this game?

... Okay, the guy who made this video is a complete moron, and not because the fact that he didn't like this game (on the contrary, he's right about one thing; the first TMNT absolutely sucked, don't get me wrong).

I mean, you can be funny when badmouthing a game without having to talk like the modern-day foul-mouthed preschooler whose only ineterest is bodily waste, to put that in as mature terms as possible.

Still, I have to say I did like his description of those automatic death traps from the airport stage where you fight the giant mouser as the boss. It was indeed frustrating to have to navigate through three rooms of spiked walls steadily closing in on you just before reaching the boss. ^_^

^ Yeah agreed he could have left the whole "waste" thing aside.

I thought he made some really good points. He made about 5 vids like that. I think NES has gotten much better with there games over the years. I'm glad we don't see much of that anymore.

Indeed. I don't know about anyone else, but I eventually came to think that seemingly classic NES games like this one are really just worthless when you get right down to it, even when compared to other games of the same console generation.

I definitely believe that, at least in the cases of Super Mario Bros. and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the NES sequels were by far major improvements to the first installment (i.e. Both TMNT 2 and 3 were really good in comparioson to TMNT 1.)

Come on, who on this entire planet thinks that the third SMB was inferior to the first?

I dunno, some people thing SMB3 was inferior to SMB2 because "it doesn't do anything differently like SMB2 did". Of course, those people don't know what they're talking about.

Funny.

And I will agree with SK.... in every aspect. But I will admit that I played quite a bit of TMNT1. And honestly, I didn't notice THAT many bad things about it till he pointed them out.

Oh well.

Post Script: Rolling Rock sucks...

I realized I spent 7:03 minutes of my day listening to some "angry" guy badmouthing a perfectly normal game just because he doesn't like it.

Most of his points are also true for a lot of other games out there, too *coughmegamancough*

And that guy isn't even angry...! He's just swearing a lot. I mean, a little. He only really swears at the end. How can he even call himself "angry"?

Wait....

*re-reads*

Megaman? Dude, Megaman's entire NES series was one of the best collections of games to come from that time period. It was even recently re-made as a collection for the PS2.

Oh well, to each their own.

... You're right, Draygone. Could any game known have been more different in gameplay than its immediate predecessor than SMB 3 was from SMB 2? (Well, except for the whole side-scrolling thing.)

I'm not talking about quality ^^ I just said that most of the arguments he uses to criticize the TMNT game are also avlid for many Megaman games. And this proves how broken his theses are, since the Mm games are so good...

Examples? Hard-to-reach platforms. Annoying laser beams coming out of the walls and impossible-to-get life recoveries. Swarm of enemies. Difficulty. Etc.

I guess I pretty much suck at MM, but whatever... I just don't agree with that guy at all.

To be honest I rather enjoyed this game. Just not the difficulty ( I was 8 ) but yes the second was way better. Even though I haven't played it since then, I just feel he over exaggerated the whole thing so I don't give him much credit. I dunno maybe he is simply smarter than an second grader. Come to think of it, he did have a pocket protector...
