And Zidane? That's a french football ("soccer") player, folks. And I guess FF9 brought a new meaning to the 'Super Deformed' expression... how can anyone be cool like that?!

... It's nice to finally have absolute confirmation that there's someone else besides myself who thinks that Zidane's state of dress and facial expression .... heck, his whole style .... is really stupid. Freya kicks his butt any day.

If we're talking about fashion though, then there's Magic Emperor Ghaleon from Lunar: Silver Star Story. He was the greatest villain to ever exist in video games, period. The clothes, the cape, the voice, his reasons for world domination, everything. He had all the makings of an awesome character.

I never said Zidane was cool, just that his gloves and belt really stick out.

I have to agree with you there. Ghaleon ranks in my top 3 bad guys of all time. I mean he wasn't just some stupid crackpot. He was a badass, with real reasons. And he was pimp. Even his appearance in Lunar : Eternal Blue made the other bad guys just seem like crap. And I gotta say I loved the whole eye deformity in Eternal Blue.

And come on. Even his title was pimp. Magic Emperor Ghaleon! FTW!

stupid crackpot = um.... Kefka?

I think that chick from Thousand Arms looked pretty awesome... what was her name? Soushi?

Man, she was hot.

(pun totally intended... and if you missed it, tough!)

... I wonder what it was that has caused his face to be deformed like that in the sequel. I didn't like him as much in that game as I did the first one, though. Ghaleon was still pretty cool, but his reasons for being the villain in Eternal Blue just weren't as understandable; he had really just gone crazy by that time. But then again, that was sort of the reason why I thought it was a particularly good idea for him to be just barely redeemed after Hiro and company beat him at the end of Eternal Blue (at least it looked like he'd gone to Heaven or something). I have to say that I was disappointed with how easily Ghaleon went down in that fight, too, especially considering all of the smack-talk he had done before the fight. He was much more formidable an opponent in Silver Star Story.

... But I have forgotten the real reason why Ghaleon made such an awesome villain in Silver Star Story -> he couldn't possibly have had any better taste in choosing which girl to kidnap once he finally came out into the open with his true intentions.

Let me get this straight... He was awesome.... because he has the same taste in women as you?

...strange.

^ LMAO ^_^

Ya. Ghaleon in Eternal Blue wasn't as good. But I think his fashion in Blue was a little better. And his smack talk too. But they couldn't let him kick to much ass cause he wasn't the final boss. And him kinda being redeemed was a very special treat to me.

And I have to admit that Luna was pimp. Well, the whole cast was. But she was an especially good herione. And the singing in the game was an incredible addition. Only thing that ever really glitched me was the whole "foster sister" bid. ^_^

Speaking of eye deformities.

Kazuya from Tekken 5.

He's the absolute coolest a character can get shirtless. The super-size scar across his chest (ripped from Sagat, but anyway). The pants design (w00t!). The hair. And the left eye that was always glowing red whenever he was under the influence of the Devil Gene... which is, almost always.

lol, that IS a bit emo now that you mention it.

Oh well, his attitude is far from emo though...

Kratos from God of War was pretty awesome... though he didn't wear much more than a loin cloth. The "war paint"
which actually happens to be the ashes of the family that he, himself, slaughtered
I guess counts.

Yeah, Leon was farily pimp in RE4, not because of his above-average strength, though. It was because of his intelligence, resourcefulness, and, above all, witty attitude towards everything despite his constantly hostile surroundings.

I mean, could you think of a more inducing-foot-in-mouth reply to
Saddler's question, "Why don't I introduce you to 'It'?" than Leon's immediate flippant retort, "Can't remember the name, huh? Must be having a senior moment."
I nearly wet myself from laughing when I first heard that.

As far as attitude goes, I think that Yusuke, the main character of Yu Yu hakusho, beats anyone. He's got unforgetable pearls like "I'm warning you, I'm gonna detonate 'ya in a double page!", and when
Koenma prepares to seal Sensui with a spiritual relic (and thus killing himself), gives an enormous deep speech and we all think things are gonna be settled and all will be good... Yusuke just comes in, snatches the relic and says "Who do you think you are, the protagonist? Look, Koenma, just stop talking bullsh*t, alright? I don't like the way things are going at all. I'm gonna do something about it."
