Dawn of Mana, scheduled for release in the U.S. in 2007 is taking the Seikindensetsu Series to a whole new level. A fully 3d one.

The came actually takes place 10 year prior to Children of Mana, the recently released DS game.

It Follows the journey of a young swordsman named Eldy, his childhood friend (forgot her name), and her pet Rabite (omg yes the Rabite, at least this one, is on your side!!!) Not much besides that is known about storyline.

A few fun things you can see in the game however (you can see these in the vids) Is that gameplay centers around the main character who can use his sword, jump, use projectial weapons (which seem highly explosive), and has some akin to a hookshot, which can be used to pull objects and enemies to you which can then be hurls at other enemies.

The producer, Koichi Ishii, has stated that the game will center around the thought of touch. As seen in the vids almost everything in the environment can be interacted with. And it's quite a bit more involved then just running up to and enemy and hitting it with your sword.

Don't have a clue wether or not there will be multiple playable characters or a switch in weaponry. But if I know the Seikin Densetsu series I would plan on being rather entertained for quite a long time when this game finally hits the shelves.

Wootness!

Actually, the gameplay reminds me of Thread of Fate just a tad. Except with a more interactive enviroment and stuff...

Which is all the more reason to wet oneself. Cause ToF kicked ass ^_^

I'm actually really kinda paranoid about whether or not there will be other playable characters...and whether or not you'll get help. That's always been a kool thing about the Mana series.

True... out of all the vids... not one showed another character besides the protagonist.

*wonders*

From what I've heard from message boards, the game is a bomb.

So sad too, because I love the mana series (it's better than FF, imo).

From what I understand the entire series includes
Secret of Everymore
Secre of Mana
Seikin densetsu 3
Legend of Mana
Dawn of Mana

...if I'm not mistaken.

But even so, I still like Final Fantasy better. But that's IMHO.

Secret of Evermore is actually not part of the series.

And you forgot Sword of Mana... on second thought, it would probably be best not to mention that one.

Sword of Mana wasn't all that bad. It could have been much worse. And when comparing it to some of the the most crappiest games I've played (cough, Samurai Legend Musashi, cough) it ranks up there. Of course if one were to compare it to the other games in the series then you'd be right.

Yep, pretty close lantis. But evermore wasn't part of the series, and the first game is a gameboy original: Final Fantasy Adventure. What a great game in it's own right.

I say that because Seikin Densetsu 3 is Secret of Mana 3... the game released before that was Seikin Densetsu 2... otherwise known as Secret of Mana here. Before the mana series was made, they came out with Secet of Evermore... which, techically would be the first seeing as Mana and Densetsu 3 followed afterwards.
