Well, I've been whoring up some Devil May Cry 3 as of late and was spurred into wondering something...

In DMC 3, Dante has an assortment of 5 diffrent melee weapons, 5 diffrent fire-arms, and 6 diffrent... well, for arugement's sake, let's say job classes or styles.

Each style give you speacial abilites for all 10 weapons... which makes the possiblities quite numerous. You can carry 2 fire-arms and two melee weapons with you at one time and switch out between them on the fly, which make for some awesome combos.

So the question: How do you pimp out your Dante?

Possible Styles:
Trickster
SwordMaster
GunSlinger
Royal Guard
Doppleganger
QuickSilver

Possible Guns:
Ebony & Ivory
Shotgun
Artemis
Spiral
Kilian Ann

Possible Melee weapons:
Rebellion
Cerberus
Rudra & Agni
Nevan
Beowulf

Here's my pref...

Style: Trickster
Gun1: Ebony & Ivory
Gun2: Kilian Ann
Melee1: Rudra & Agni
Melee2: Beowulf

Though I mastered all the classes, I always enjoyed the Trickster class... the fact that you can pretty much move and possition yourself as you see fit is just wonderful. The air time is amazing. And because Rudra & Agni and Beowulf have Air Hike (double jump) you can really stay up there.

I use Ebony & Ivory for the damage I can pull of with them. You fire a bullet every time you hit the button... the faster you hit it, the more bullets you get. And I have to say I'm quite proud of my BPMs (Buttons per minute). Plus there's no recoil time on this weapon, so you can do some damage and not really put yourself in harms way.

Kilian Ann, even though the recoil time is aweful, does a significant amount of damage. And coupled with Trickster... you can recover pretty quick by dashing out of the way. I don't use it much, but I really didn't much care for the other guns...

Rudra & Agni were just plain awesome. They did a large amount of damage and had more combos than any other weapon... especially on the Swordmaster style.

Beowulf was pretty much backup. I used it to finish off a few combos and such. For example. If you put an enemy up in the air, you don't have an attack from Rudra & Agni that would put you back on the ground quick. So a quick change to Beowulf in mid air and you could use BeeKiller and get the results you need.

Anyway, I'm curious what you people like... or if you even play the game at all... if you haven't, I'll wait.

*waits*

Only you would make this Lantis

Style: Swordmaster
Gun 1: Ebony and Ivory
Gun 2: Artemis
Melee 1: Cerberus
Melee 2: Nevan

My prefered style for is actually trickster. However if I really just wanna get the job done I go with Swordy. EaI is of course staple. Even if you could beat the game without them I'm not sure I would want to. Their just aprt of the DMC franchise. Artemis is my baby. She's not usually much use outside of Gunslinger mode but I bring her along anyways.

Cerberus and Nevan shine like gold in swordmaster. Both are crowd pleasers which we all know can be very important in DMC. Especially if you'r not moving fast (i.e. trickster). I can't tell you the number of times ice age has saved my ass, and million carats in the right situation will rape someone. Nevan is of course always fun for air raid and thunderbolt and vortex. But in swordmaster style Nevan actually becomes quite a formidable weapon. Distortion can dish out a lot of damage and if timed correctly a switch from Cerberus to Nevan can quickly end a lot of enemies.

Anyways..That's my style...and I'm stickin to it.
