@ Lantis: Its bound to. The first batch of systems are just beta systems. They sell them to stupid people to see what the problems with the systems are.

600k for a PS3? Jesus Christ...the world is looking kind of dumb right now.....but as for me, I want to profit from ths just like anyone else.

EBAY removed the item about 17 minutes before it was set to close out. The item just disappeared without word or warning, And it isn't even showing in the completed auctions list. It was definately something fishy with the auction considering there were several where a penny was the starting bid, and no bids were made.

As far as the PS3 having bugs? You bet it does... I am friends with employees at the Walmart near my home, and they said that the PS3 had recalls and they had to rush ship some PS3's back to the stores. For those that didn't get the warning in time, they sold the items to them expecting that they would find it defective, and return it for a good system when they came in. Instead people are selling them on e-bay. Which means NO RECEIPT. For all that bought a PS3 or a Wii this early in the game, (no pun intended) I wish thee good luck. I always wait until the system drops in price, more games are available for it, and the bugs are tested and solved.

Why else do you think they only issue a handful of systems at a time? It's cheaper for them to recall only 8,000 systems versus 1,000,000 systems.

@ anyone who thinks Wii will be defective- There has never been a Nintendo system that has come out that a problem like the Playstation 2 and the XBox. Most likely because they beta test months maybe years before the system is released.

Which isn't to say there aren't defective Nintendo systems. It's just that if you get one, you're just pretty unlucky.

Well, I kept track of the PS3's on Ebay...

They seem to adverage out only within a few thousand now.

I don't want to hear any more b*tching about how expensive a PS3 is after seeing how much people will pay for them. Personally, I think it's stupid and very sad that they will, in fact, pay that much. But because they do, however sad it may be, it pretty much blows the whole "it's too expensive" thing out of the water.

YOU might not be able to afford it, but apparently plenty of people can... and then some.

I have to disagree with you to some extent on that assumption, Miss Kittykicker. I remarked to Lantis just last night that at least a good half of those people whom are willing to drop thousands of dollars just to get a PS3 earlier than its release date actually probably have just as little money as you or I might have, but are nevertheless so desperate that they somehow put everything on credit and thus will spend the rest of their natural-born lives being owned by debt ... all because they were just too spoiled to wait a few more months.
