I predict Wii, PS3, 360....

I'm more interested in the poll than I am about posts on this thread.

That's not possible. Even if everyone registered voted, you've got guests coming in who are counted but can't vote, and you've got those who already voted coming in to see other votes made since they last voted.

Overall, I have a feeling it's gonna be a close race in the US this generation. In Japan, a close race between Wii and PS3, but 360 loses out.

360 is getting a big push in japan. Preorders for the Blue Dragon 360 bundle sold out almost immediately over there, and some japanese developers are dropping PS3 support and focusing primarily on the 360, like From Software. I don't think it'll be a top level contender, but it's going to do pretty well.

The Wii will be a success in japan. There's no two ways about it. every gamer in that country will buy it the day the Dragon Quest game comes out for it. Japan always follows DQ.

PS3 Should do pretty well in Japan as well. The 20GB version is only 400 dollars there, which ties it with the premium 360. Price is going to be a huge factor in the race, and sony dropping the price in japan (where everything is much more expensive) is a very smart move.

the biggest problem for the 360 and the PS3 world-wide is that HDTVs are still catching on slowly. I believe the PS3 outputs everything in 1080p, which is going to cause a lot of headaches (lterally) for people with standard TVs, much like the text in Dead Rising. the 360 uses a lower max resolution than the PS3, so things are actually going to be MUCH worse. If you actually want to play and fully appreciate any PS3 games, you have to have an HDTV. I hope 360 developers choose to consider more standard TV owners, unlike capcom which just told frustrated gamers "buy an HDTV" when the text problems in Dead Rising came up. I'd say the same for PS3 developers, but Sony doesnt let them make that choice. the games have to be HD, or they're not allowed on the system.
