This is... the second FF with a female lead? (other than X-2) I can't wait. But why are they showing FFXIII screens when FFXII isn't even out?

It is out. But only in Japan.

I'm more wondering how come it already has a sequel/sidestory being developed with it.

My wish is that it helps revitalize the series. Things have been dragging since FFX-2.

Does this mean they're already working on the english version and almost are done with the Japanese (most companies only make games in English after the Japanese version is done), or are they going to release this title in America first!?

nope, you seem to forget that japan use english some times. That shouldn't be suprising if you hear about it.

I know Japan uses English sometimes, but usually their games are purely in Hiragana, Katakana at best.

I just though it was interesting that, with all of the past FF releases, we've only seen these screens in Hiragana, and now we actually see a FFXIII in English - not to mention while a lot of Japanese know English, all Japanese know Japanese.

Kinda' like how America uses a lot of Spanish, we won't make a game in Spanish unless it was only for a Spanish audience.

But what surprised me is this - if they're doing this now, perhaps the release may be sooner than we think.

Don't forget Kanji. If you know Japan you know they will always release it in their country first before everything else.

Well, this either has to do with the possibility that every region's version can be in a single disc (thus they'd be putting in the text in multiple languages), or they made it english for E3, which happens to take place in an english-speaking country (and how long does it take to translate a few menu options?).

I just saw a video of it on g4tv. A girl with guns, this is gonna be a good rpg for me. I can't wait for 12 though.

Yeah, I usually don't mention Kanji because of the Kun'yomi and On'yomi confusion that goes on. Atleast with the American dudes. o__O

But whatshisname above made a good point - the disks will be multi-regional, won't they? Americans can play pure Japanese games (without a mod chip! yay!) and Japanese can play American games. Awesome. XD

Unless the PS3 automatically locks on to a specific region's coding, in which case Japanese players will be locked on to the Japanese coding, while American players are stuck with lousy American dubbing.

I certainly hope they give us bilingual options, or atleast take their DUBbing requirements to ADV films. What I hope they DO NOT do is have the cast from KH2's FF characters work on FF13 DUBs. I never want to hear the voice actor who played Cid again.

(Well... Auron did have a cool voice in KH2, so I'll atleast give him credit.)
