This past week was even crazier than the last!

New Titles:
* Final Fantasy Explorers (3DS)
* LEGO Marvel's Advengers (PS4)
* Rabi-Ribi (Steam)
* To the Moon (Steam)
* Saturday Morning RPG (PS4)
* Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
* The Witness (PS4)
* Capsule Force (PS4)

Despite that, I still managed to come out on top with positive progress on the Backloggery:
* Beat and 100%'d A Boy and His Blob
* Beat Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 with the normal ending.
* Started Capsule Force, ended up beating and 100%ing it in one sitting, including S-ranking every mission.
* Started Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours and ended up being both of its arcade modes, but there's a lot left to 100%.
* Realized I hadn't really touched Croixleur Sigma so I fired that up and beat its Story Mode.
* Started The Witness in an attempt to get a feel for the game, then focus on LEGO Avengers, but ended up going back to The Witness and beat its main story.

Got 3 more arriving around Tuesday but that feels like a reprieve.

And, as of today, I'm starting with this year's gaming goal. Details can be see on my Backloggery page.

Ended up getting a couple more than expected this week, but also a couple less at the same time.

New Titles:
* Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4)
* Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel (PS4)
* Megadimension Neptunia VII (PS4)
* Alphadia (3DS Digital)
* Shutshimi (WiiU Digital)

Due to a busy first half of the week I didn't have a lot of time for gaming, but I did manage to 100% Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation and get its Platinum trophy, started and gave up on Shutshimi, started and 100%'d Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel in one sitting (easiest fighting game Platinum ever), and finally took time to play through To the Moon.

I had planned on getting a couple more off the eShop, but the demo of Mercenaries Saga 2 didn't wow me enough to warrant getting the full version, and the simple Peg Solitaire that looked fun was actually for WiiU and not 3DS; which is a shame since something like that is perfect for handhelds.

Currently focusing on Alphadia Genesis at home, Alphadia on the go, and working on the Platinum trophy for J-Stars Victory Vs+ in short bursts as that requires 2 more runs of story mode and completing the 120+ battles in Victory Road mode.

I beat Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete last night. The final boss battle took about an hour and a half to do! I'm so glad I got through it.

Still have after game stuff to do, though. Epilogue!

Was that or was that not one of the best final boss battles ever?

The epilogue is pretty fun as you can actually attempt to solo the entire thing. The devs foresaw the potential and provided a way to bypass one of the optional bosses who can give you a game over without KOing you if you don't have anyone else in the party.

Congrats, man.

I have played Lunar 2 in full about three times so far, i think, and I always had trouble winning the final battle on Zophar's second form because he had like five different attacks in one turn and I found it hard to keep up with healing. He's still not as good a villain as Magic Emperor Ghaleon was, especially when his first two forms look unnaturally feminine (seriously, why does he look like that? it's not intimidating in the least considering his powerful status and deep demonic voice), but I can say the main battle with him is very challenging.

I only did the Epilogue segment once, but I remember it was really enjoyable. You also have the most challenging dungeons ahead yet, Ix.

(I would tell you what particular part of the epilogue I especially enjoy, but I guess that would be a spoiler. If you've heard me rant about certain things in the Lunar series before, though, Ix, I am fairly certain you will be able to guess what it is when you get to it.)

I'm real in to Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS at the moment. I'm... I think about 10 hours in. That's with a bit of power leveling. I'm right at Akzeriuth.

It's been a week where I came out on top mainly because I actually didn't buy any new titles. Been juggling playing through two games from the start while working on 100%ing two others. I managed to 100% and Platinum J-Stars Victory Vs+ and beat the main story for Alphadia over the weekend.

Currently working on 100%ing Super Mario Maker and will also be working on Alphadia Genesis after I 100% Alphadia by defeating the bonus boss.

Looking forward to Project X Zone 2 and Fire Emblem: Fates this week. May also get Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae on digital PS4.

Been a pretty good week as I was able to finishing 100%ing Alphadia and Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, then tackled some shorter games to beat the main stories in the Mega Man Legacy Collection challenge mode, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, and Elevator Action Deluxe.

Along with MKH, I picked up Project X Zone 2 and have started that, Word Puzzles by POWGLI, and hope to see my copy of Fire Emblem Fates later this week. Also getting the 3DS version of the Mega Man Legacy Collection for its gold Mega Man amiibo.

Currently working on Project X Zone 2 while on the go and Alphadia Genesis at home.

Been a straightforward week:

New acquisitions have been Fire Emblem Fates, Sadame, and REPLAY: VHS is not dead with the initial impressions on those in that thread.

Most of the progress throughout the week was in Project X Zone 2. Currently finishing up Chapter 16 and mostly playing it on the go.

Over the weekend I managed to finish Alphadia Genesis with both the Normal and True Ends. It starts off a bit slow and with one extremely unlikable character, but really beings to pick up steam partway in and ended up being really good, so I highly recommend it.

Since I'm ahead of schedule on my gaming goal I'm taking time to play a few titles outside of the scope of the goal and made good progress yesterday by beating the Story Mode for LEGO Marvel's Avengers and hope to have the Platinum/100% completion by the end of this week.

Got a few more titles releasing/arriving this week, so I'll post on them as they arrive/I try them out.

I wasn't planning on getting Fire Emblem on launch date, but I did anyways.
I'm "resting" at home (doctor's order) so I had plenty of time to finish both Conquest and Birthright.
I never played a FE game before Awakening, so Conquest showed me the apparent full FE experience and it was pretty challenging! I even left it on Normal/Classic Mode so I had to restart like a million times to prevent unit deaths (lost on in the final chapter.. so annoying!)
By the time I tackled the easier version (Birthright) I decided to play on Normal/Casual to not have to worry about losing them.

Anyway, I plan on picking up Revelations too. Hopefully I'll take my sweet time developing my units om that one.

Still working on Project X Zone 2 while on the go. Depending on how much time I have during lunch, I've been clearing 1-2 chapters per work day.

At home, I spent the majority of the week finishing up the Platinum trophy for LEGO Marvel's Avengers before trying out the new games that arrived over the course of the week. Took the time to start and finish Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale over the weekend and am ready to start something new on consoles after work today. It will most likely be Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest, or as I call it based on my first impressions of it, the silliest and sexiest version of Risk ever.

Other new acquisitions for the week were The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Edition, Parascientific Escape: Cruise in the Distant Seas, and a small handful of mobile games now that I have an iPad: Final Fantasy Record Keeper, Love Live! School Idol Festival, and Alphadia Genesis 2.

All-in-all, PSASBR was decent, but had horrendous load times that hearkened back to the enormous load times of the PS1 era. I don't expect to play it much more now that I've gotten the Platinum.

Very confusing, though.

Currently starting to feel the effects of focusing on two long games at the same time as I have not beaten anything this week while new titles continue to release/trickle in.

Still working on Project X Zone 2 and am at Chapter 36. Nearing the end-game as there are 42 chapters so I may blitz through the rest of it to reach the end. Otherwise I'm focused on Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest, which is basically Risk turned into a Visual Novel and major historical figures portrayed as women (since the original version was an H-game whereas the PS3/localized version is all-ages).

Nearly all of the new arrivals this week were remakes or re-purchases so I didn't do Initial Impressions posts:
* Adventures of Mana (iOS) - A remake more faithful to the original Final Fantasy Adventures than Sword of Mana was, and it is GOOD!
* The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (WiiU) - Have both the Wii and GC versions.
* Star Ghost (WiiU Digital) - Ended up being a very meh horizontal shooter that made the same grave mistake as Shutshimi. Go buy Deathsmiles on Steam if you want a great game in this genre!
* The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (Steam) - Bought on sale since XSeed announced the Third chapter will be PC-only.
* Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PS3) - Had but didn't keep the XBox 360 version. Decided to re-buy it on PS3 just to keep a copy even though it's no longer possible to download the DLC.

I'm curious, what did you find confusing? The story? What path are you playing? For the most part, I find there are a couple of things that might leave you scratching your head, but each path has different maps and objectives, a definite conclusion. (even it leaves some things unanswered) Of course, Revelations is the one that ties all those loose ends together (or most of them?)

I started with Conquest, then played Birthtight. Then I accidentally over wrote my BR file with my Conquest file and I redid Birthright again. Then I got Revelations, where I'm spending most of my energies at. (I had 20 days off, and I was kind of heavily medicated, so I stayed most of it at home, ok?)

FYI: If you plan on playing more than one path: Once you beat the game, you can add 5 units to your log book. That means that you can either recruit them as guests in other games, or just buy their skills for that same character on another file (so you don't have to grind for them or switch classes a lot) If you beat the game again, you can add 5 more, and so on.

ANYWAY, if you see that a Guarionex visited and left an accessory, trade cards with him (me) and give random accessories so we can eventually have bond units <3

Now if you lose to Lantis when racing with the Mag on Super Mario Bros. 2, then you'd be in trouble.

Been a slow but steady week this past week as I beat my first run of Project X Zone 2. Working on the NG+ run at least through Chapter 36 for a NG+-only scene and completing each of the Challenge Maps for 100% Completion.

Also been focusing a lot on Eiyuu Senki and, as of last night, have finished conquering Europe, leaving Africa, Russia, and Britannia left before end-game for the Normal Ending.

New titles this week were Senran Kagura: Estival Versus and Murasaki Mist: Akara's Journey. Posted initial impressions of both in that thread.

This week will be a good one courtesy of Hyrule Warriors Legends and Day of the Tentacle Remastered being released.

All the new classes and mechanics, for starters. But I've gotten more or less used to them.

I've beaten Chapter 10 in Birthright so far because I've had time on the planes I was on. Getting used to it and unlocking new skills.

Oh, right, the majority of the Hoshidan classes are all pretty much new to the game (it did confuse me too since I played Conquest first, and most of the nohr classes are the more familiar ones.)

Well, I actually managed to go a full week without buying any new games. Bought Day of the Tentacle Remastered on Tuesday and 100%'d it that night- including setting a new PB for fastest platinum trophy at 2h and 38m. The game is a must-have for classic point and click adventure fans.

Also picked up Dragon Fantasy Books I and II on a whim, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and Alphadia 2 on my new iPhone.

Progress has been about the same otherwise as I'm still very focused on Project X Zone 2's NG+ where I'm getting strong enough to take on the Challenge Maps, and Eiyuu Senki. I reached the Normal end of the latter the other day and started the True End path last night. Eiyuu Senki has become my #1 digital-only PS3 title and the twists revealed at the True End path have escalated it to a "MUST PLAY, DAMMIT!" title for those who enjoy Visual Novels and/or SRPGs. For a title with a premise of fanservice in famous historical figures being turned into women, it has got one HELL of a good story.
