So I was looking at what would be released on the Nintendo eShop today and noticed this title:

Chronus Arc for the Nintendo 3DS

Looks to be a mobile port but their last one I played, Grinsia, had some old-school charm so I'll be checking this out and will report.

I got to play for about 5 minutes yesterday while waiting for a manager at the movie theater to fix a problem with my ticket so I can't say I've seen much, but enough to know that the hero is suffering from a repressed childhood trauma shown to him in his nightmares and is childhood friends with the princess/heroine.

Apparently every 10 years the world witnesses an event called the "Time Rewinding" but not much info has been revealed on that yet. Will play more during my lunch hour and hopefully start engaging into the battle system.

Now that I've been able to play almost a full hour of the game, I definitely have to say that it is leaving a wonderful first impression. The mechanics are solid with the in-game map helping track down monsters and item locations. Puzzles that are a mix of Lufia II and Tales styles. And an easy to pick up turn-based battle system.

The game encourages exploration while helping keep track of where you need to go next and the character interaction has been fairly minimal so far but the hero is well-known around his hometown so well he can just walk into the castle and chat with the princess without any fuss.

Think I'll focus on this after finishing P4D. Maybe even after P4D's story mode rather than the platinum trophy.

Anyone who is familiar with my primary contribution to the Mag Races won't be surprised to see I've also been working on this for the game:

Chronus Arc (Video Game) - TVTropes
