Twitch has never been more popular. For 2/3 the price YT itself was purchased for in 2006, Twitch is going to YT (a Google company) for $1billion.

Further "integrational improvements" to commence.

Not liking the idea. One, there's already meek competition in both video hosting and streaming. For Google to have it all is no good for the Internet as a whole. Plus the whole content ID/copyright strike system that's in place could potentially effect twitch streamers, which can get quite a number of people removed. It hasn't been finalized yet, but Twitch should think about it's user-base vs the money. $1B is great, but if the copyright junk starts pertaining to Twitch, then it's no good. Things are at their best with competition, and right now, there really is none.

Like Fox said, google has been deep in everyones business about trying to keep what they think 'might' be a copyright issue.
Twitch is largly used by Lets Players, or other people that just play games.
Youtube is always funky with what Games it thinks is acceptable to put up or not, we don't need that restriction with a Lets Play based website.
Also, it makes me feel weary knowing that Google owns pretty much all of the 'normal' internet, but that's just my paranoia talking.

On the other hand, $1B is nice and Google has some good servers.
Googles servers might be able to help make Twitch a little less laggy for people, if Twitch works the way I think it does.
Google would also make some pretty good tools to work with Twitch, as well as add more features to the website itself.

I'm leaning to no though, the copyright thing is a huge issue, especially in a LP community. It's not worth all the extra features.

You mean like trying to redesign the website every few months? :drums:

Ouch, yeah, good point.

Youtube changing so often is annoying enough as it is, having yet another popular website that does it as well would just get even more annoying. People like being familiar with a website they use, when they change it so much, all it does is annoy everyone.

Google, why you so silly.
