They will be streaming live at 10AM eastern time.

Nintendo will likely be going over the WiiU specs, line up, release date, and price.

Hopefully something else to get me excited for it again. Shortly after their E3 conference, my interest began a long descent as I read a bit more and thought a bit more.

Too bad the stream won't have any audio and will be extremely laggy.

Wait... oh, you don't mean on the actual console. Gotcha.

New Super Mario Brothers U is a launch game.

Bayonetta 2 has been announced as a Wii U exclusive. Nintendo is the publisher.

Project P-100 has been renamed to The Wonderful 101. I like that name.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (March 2013) - Local co-op and online.

Activision is showing off Skylanders Giants. Massive cash coming your way.

007 Legends shown. Looks ugly.

Transformers Prime announced.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is on Wii U as well.

Reggie saying that they still don't know what will be launch day games. Isn't the launch 2 months away? How can they not know?

This wasn't a bad conference, certainly better than their E3 showing. But generally speaking, I'd be hard to make a show that wasn't better than their E3 showing.

I'll be honest and say that I'm not super excited about the launch of the WiiU. It's sad to say, but pretty much the only game I'm looking forward to is Black Ops 2 just because it supports pointer controls. That's one thing I really missed about the Wii was were the potential of FPS taking advantage of the controls the Wii offered. I bought Playstation Move just so I could play Killzone 3 with Move controls.

I think what WiiU is missing is a killer app. Almost everything that has been shown can already be found on PS360, and Nintendo Land isn't exactly the killer exclusive from Nintendo we were all hoping for. Sure Pikmin 3 looks nice, and I'm sure it'll be good, but it just looks like an upgraded Wii game (and it basically is since it was in development for the Wii for a number of years). What Nintendo needs, and what consumers want, is a killer Nintendo exclusive (Metroid anyone?) and at least one 3rd-party offering built for the ground up for the WiiU. The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta, in my opinion, aren't the killer 3rd-party offerings the WiiU needs to separate itself from the myriad of games already available on the PS360.

Perhaps the closest game Nintendo has to this is ZombieU. It's definitely a unique game that has been built from the ground up for the WiiU's tablet interface. Nintendo needs more games like this, and it's those kinda games that will help Nintendo bring in consumers and show them that the WiiU is a real alternative to not only the PS360, but the next-gen offerings from Sony and Microsoft.

I hardly see how the Wii U is an alternative to any other console specially when they haven't said a single word about their online compatability. To even compete with say, Xbox, they're going to have to fix it to where all their games play lag free AND support voice over IP. Two things the Wii does not do. And the fact they haven't said a word about online and it's only 8 weeks away from launch, I'm going to be very skeptical that they actually fixed this glaring problem. I like being known on XBLA and PSN as Lantis02, and not 4360-1671-9480-8210. Not to mention that the BIGGER model of the two is half the size data wise as my Xbox... and I think my Xbox is tiny enough as is. And aside form that, the only exclusive that even remotely interests me is Bayonetta 2. And I'm honestly shocked it's exclusive to Nintendo. Of course there will be the mandatory Zelda and Mario titles, so I'll grab it eventually.

And believe it or not, I'm not hating on Nintendo unfairly. I own all the current gen consoles and have played them all to their extent. I speak from hands on experience, not biasness.

Dtoid reporting you can plug in anything you want to expand the space in the Wii U via the USB ports:

http://www.destructoid.com/wii-u-allows ... 4947.phtml

Quote:
If the increase in internal Wii U memory had you considering the more expensive Deluxe set, then you'll be happy to note that the system will allow you to increase its storage capacity yourself -- without the need for any weird workarounds.

"You can plug in a full-on three terabyte hard drive if you want," explained Nintendo of America CEO and president Reggie Fils-Aime in an investor Q&A. "I'll love you as a digital consumer."

Continuing, he says: "The reason we did it that way is that the cost of that type of storage memory is plummeting. What we didn't want to do is tie a profit model to something that's gonna rapidly decline over time. We'll let the consumer buy as much as they want, as cheaply as they want."

Engadget also reports that the hardware necessary for TiVO and DVR functionality is not built into the Wii U, so in order to make use of such features, you'll need existing hardware.

Nintendo Wii U expandable memory explained, TiVO hardware not built in [Engadget]

Good stuff!

The thing with Nintendo is that they will always win.

Everyone that games will buy this console eventually, just to play Zelda and Mario.

I get all the consoles... I don't see why that makes Nintendo any more special than anyone else. Also using that as an excuse as to why Nintendo is awesome is really poor. Specially when the points I made are very much valid.

I'll admit it- I think we'll probably end up with a Wii U. Dunno which. But, I called at least the base model price! And the month.:P

Anywho, I think Nintendo has already improved some lag(there's virtually none on Mario Kart Wii online and MK7 on the 3DS)... but I do know that friend codes will still be a thing from prior info. And as I recall, they said they wanted to make the online experience better. I think that may result in more of an XBL style friends list deal, but I don't know.

I'm actually excited for the WarioWare game for it. And Monster Hunter. And hey, Mario.

It's not like the other two have even announced anything yet, aside from more waggling(which... I stil haven't even bothered to get PS Move or use the Kinect), and all that 3D crap PS3-side. I kinda wish it was like back in the day, and the consoles were having a fight during the holidays. Cause I don't think low price point is going to save Nintendo this time. I fully expect the base model next Xbox to probably be like $300, too. I think MS realized they needed to lower the fee of admittance to their stuff as well.

WAIT.

Bayonetta 2, Wii U exclusive.

Okay done deal. They got me!

I said they are awesome? I'm just saying that it's all a game of making money, and Nintendo's pretty good at it.

In other news, I'll probably get a WiiU when Zelda comes out.

So, judging from the reactions so far in this topic, would it be safe to assume Nintendo didn't announce anything special?

Bayonetta 2 is exclusive.

You can play as your Mii in MarioU

Blackops2 will let two people play, one on tv one on gamepad....

SO yeah, not too much.

here's a list of day one games

Rayman Legends
Black Ops 2
Assassin’s Creed III
ZombiU
Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
Rabbids Land
Just Dance 4
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
MADDEN NFL 13
NBA 2K13
TRANSFORMERS PRIME
Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013
Game Party Champions
ESPN Sports Connection
Darksiders II
Nintendo Land
New Super Mario Bros. U

NintendoTVii is possibly kinda cool.
It takes all of the shows available from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, DVR, Personal PC, on air TV/Cable, and makes them all located in one app where you can browse and hopefully sort and search. If they do it right it could be an effortless process for the user.

But this is Nintendo so I wouldn't count on anything being easy.

So, then, no, nothing of interest.

I want one, but I'll wait if I can't get one. I love the WarioWare-style games like I said(better than Wii-Sports, I felt so disappointed after camping for my Wii for that pack-in). I also think the launch list is nice. Why? Because I'll just say it- the 3DS launch lineup sucked. Entirely. I had to force myself to get Pilotwings, and it was so underwhelming. Hopefully the Wii U gets a true successor to Pilotwings 64!

This is no 3DS launch. Lukewarm sales reception is just not even on the table at this point... the 3DS sat on shelves in American stores pretty much.

Gamestop is sold out of pre-orders for the Deluxe bundle nationwide. That includes their site.

Best Buy is sold out of pre-orders for the same on their website.

Quick Edit: Toys R Us is also sold out of pre-orders. I am assuming Target is, too- since the button is gone from their site.

We just went ahead and got a basic version from Gamestop. I'm not necessarily hurting for Nintendoland(I saw that there's only 12 minigames, not enough for me and I can get it later), and that's the main difference aside from the storage(since external is confirmed, I don't need to pay more since I'm sure we have a spare HD somewhere), and also a cradle charger for your controller. This is also the only option I can see of getting the thing at launch, at least online-wise. Amazon has been confirmed that they won't be getting it. Apparently, they had some problems with Nintendo consoles or something, since you can't even get a 3DS through Amazon itself anymore. You have to go through sellers.

But yeah. That's pretty impressive, considering it has been less than a week. I think this is a... Wii-peat. Yeah, I went there.

As for the games I'm interested in from that list~

ZombiU - Maybe. I love the concepts and impressions footage, though.

Mass Effect 3: Special Edition - Don't have this yet. And I see "Special Edition". :)

Scribblenauts Unlimited - It's Scribblenauts. If I have to say more, then bah.(Not actually at launch though. Amazon is saying Dec. 31st)

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two - Seriously, the guy putting these games out is a development-awesome-person... Warren Spector. I liked the first game, too.

Rabbids Land - I REALLY appreciate these games. They are like the ultimate party games. They feature the Rabbids from Rayman. I was so disappointed when I got a cheap version of a different Rabbids game on the Xbox 360, and despite that, there was no online play. Regardless, a great series for fun.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Sure. I rented the Xbox 360 version, and it seems fun enough. I may do 360, though.

Nintendo Land - WarioWare/Mario Party style long-form minigames. Yes, fun, yes, aw yeah. trying to get the pack-in with it.

New Super Mario Bros. U - I'll bite. I never even played the Wii version. I like Mario. I also like that I saw a Koopa Kid in the trailer.:)

Personally, I find that amazing for day one titles. But I do enjoy a vast array of games.:P I have doubts I'll be getting a console first wave, however. Availability.

I left out a couple games, cause I might get them on Xbox instead. Stuff like Batman and Darksiders.
