That huge thunderstorm we had on Tuesday apparently went through my ethernet cable and blew out my wired 360 adapter. So I won't be on Live for a bit.

Deciding between a new 360 and a wireless adapter (USB). I figure I could ride out Ygnition until I can get on Uverse and then my speed on wireless will be fantastic and I will only have to spend 40 bucks vs 200+.

Yeah, but it is still wireless. Regardless of your up/down speeds, wireless signal can and will drop sporadically. It's just the nature of the beast. Wireless drops more packets than hard wire. And that is completely unacceptable for a video game console.

I didn't even know ethernet cables could DO that.

At any rate, Lantis has a good point. Wired always beats wireless for gaming, but I never knew about that risk before. We have the older wireless dongle thing in a 360 Elite here, and the new one. To be honest, the newer one is sleek and all that, but if you have no need except for internet- I can totally say the wireless USB thing for the 360 works fine, too.
