Anyone grabbing this? It comes out tonight at midnight PST, I believe.:D

I have mine already digitally. So woo! I'm planning on playing a Monk. She looks freaking amazing. Truthfully I don't have uber amounts of experience with D2, but hopefully I can get by.

Or maybe I'm the only one playing Diablo III. I dunno! So is anyone here planning/pre-ordered it etc?

I'm getting it, but not until later in the week when I have money.

I've spent countless hour playing Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, so there is no way I won't pick this up. I plan on playing as a Demon Hunter my first playthrough, and then a Witch Doctor.

I plan on picking it up tomorrow. Never played the others because Ididnt have a computer when I was a kid. Looks like rpg crack though. I think ill go with a barbarian at first. Once I get the feel of things we should get a party going and do some raids or whatever they r.

I might end up picking this up. I've never played a PC game much besides Age of Empires 2.

If all you guys are getting it, I'll have to.

Also, I've only every played Diablo II... and it was only for a little bit. So I may be noobing it up pretty hard core.

Oh snap. I think we pretty much have a Mag crew, haha.:D I played some of D2, but like I said I never got to play too much since I got into it much later than most people. Though, when I was a kid me and my neighbor played a lot of Warcraft 2, so I'm honestly surprised I never got Diablo before.

At any rate, the multiplayer should be easy to figure out, I hope. I didn't even get to play Diablo 2 with anyone! :P

It's installing now. :) I'm pretty pumped. And since I'm recovering from surgery I'll be able to rage to this for a couple weeks straight uninterrupted. I don't know if it comes with a mic feature, but if it does and we actually get some gaming sessions in together I'll probably pic a cheap one up.

Edit, I take that back. My video card is dead. I thought it was going, but I was hoping it would last. Second one skyrim killed. Good thing i'm still under warrenty and will have a new one shipped to me in a couple weeks.

Aw.D: Skyrim kills video cards? Wow. o_O I have it on Steam but I've been playing the 360 version so my partner can watch. I wanted it for PC with all the mods and all that and got it on sale. My poor laptop would probably roll over.:P

Anywho, glad you're covered! And I think Skype would probably work well for this, since there won't be massive amounts of people.:D

I'm actually going to back-peddle on Diablo III. I was reading about it and this thing has always-on DRM. You HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY THIS. So if I spend 60 bucks, I'm always going to have to have an internet connection? Even in single player? Is there truth to this people who have the game?

DRM sucks and I won't be supporting it, if so.

Couldn't even play single player. =/

@Ixz, yes you have to always have an internet connection in order to play at all, even if you only play single player.

I admit, it's really stupid, as both Diablo 1 and 2 allowed you to play single player without an internet connection.

Max party size is 4 people, down from the 8 people you could have in a game in Diablo 2.

It's stupid and not. PSU/PSO Blue Burst also had this, mainly because you can take your single player character online at any time with friends. I don't blame ya if you don't like it, but apparently cheating was a pretty big problem in D2. ...And I know what it did in PSO.:P People used exploits offline to get the uber items, etc, and then even to harm other players online with NOL, which basically made an entire character useless and turned them into that particular NPC.

I think it's something more like that, rather than a true piracy concern. Someone could theoretically patch out the whole online requirement anyhow with that. Also, the game uses Battle.net, so that could also be part of it. I'm used to this sort of setup from WoW, though.

I am extremely disappointed that the limit of players is down to 4 though. Would have been SMASHING! to have 8.:(

I played a bit tonight and got to level 8. My one old friend was on, but we got kicked off for yet another maintenance, haha. Launch week blues. At any rate I need to start up the game by myself again. I came in the middle of story, and got punted around quite a bit from the level difference.

D2 also used battle.net, and you had different characters for online and offline play, your online characters could not be played in single player and vice versa.

Doesn't really matter at this point. I'm getting the game tomorrow afternoon.

Yeah, there's that too.:P I knew Bnet was around back then, I used to play WCII, heh. But, regardless- the whole "character for offline and character for online" being gone is fine by me. I really love how if people join your party on the fly, you get increased enemy stats. If they leave, they go back down. And it's on the fly, which is nice. I really didn't like in D2... how you had two separate characters. It was kinda like "what do you do?" You could play single player, and get a SUPER cool piece of gear. And your bud gets off work, or gives you a call, but you've lost yourself in playing single player offline, and now have to start over or even continue your online character without that awesome gear. I find that to be a bummer. I like how you can just make "games" now, and then it's much more fluid than anything else, to have people jump in and out as they can. Also kind of cool, it is looking like Battle.net is unifying more and more between the games, and even in them. Like WoW getting account-wide achievements, I imagine D3 will probably get those too.

Also kind of ironic, most people just leave their 360s online statically while playing single player games, haha. I think when you don't mention it or make a big deal of it as a company, people don't care. But honestly it doesn't bother me. I like being on Bnet anyways, to chat with friends. And that way, if I hop on WoW with my partner and wanna do some stuff, people playing D3 can still chat with me.

I think Diablo is just... an online game at this point. People have moved, grown, etc since D2. This way someone I used to talk to- might be hundreds, thousands of miles away, but you can still chat. I think it's the same reason why online console gaming has exploded.:)

Just my two copper. It ain't much!

protip: I recommend that you go into your social options menu and uncheck the box that says, "Allow Quick Join." This will disable the ability for people on your friends list to join your game by clicking a button, they will need to be invited to the game to play with you.

I learned yesterday that if you are in a game with someone that has quick join enabled, while you yourself have it disabled, people on your friends list can join your game even if they are not friends with the person you are playing with.

ex. Yesterday I was playing with my cousin, who is not friends with my brother on Diablo 3. I had quick join disabled, while my cousin had it enabled. My brother was still able to join our game.

Just a tip if you feel like playing solo or in a smaller group.

Just defeated the Skeleton King at level 10. I'm currently playing as a monk, and it's fairly awesome.

Monk is the best class. ;D

Excellent Lantis! I'm on my way to knock his bones out. My internet has been spotty at best since they're transferring services to another company, haha. Hopefully it is solved now. They said May 20th was the merge/transfer date.
