Got it for $90, which I think is pretty good since it rarely sells for under $100. The only reason it was as "cheap" as it was is because it was a "Buy It Now" item.

Haven't played it, yet. You see, I was sorta planning on doing a secret let's play of it, and not releasing the let's play until it's finished. That way it would be like the 90s, when this game came out, and information about games like this wasn't readily available online. Because, really, it seems like a game I should've owned back then. But I decided that keeping it secret for that reason is a little silly, because the game came with a player's guide, and back then, I used player's guides maliciously.

I could probably continue keeping it a secret and just reveal it the moment I start the let's play, but more than one person here has shown interest in starting one of their own, so I want to bring it up before someone gets to it before I do. Why should you let me let's play it instead? Because it'll be the ultimate blind LP. I've never played it, and I've never watched a let's play of it. I barely know a thing about the game.

I plan on starting up the LP after I finish Light in the Sky, which I'm currently around the halfway point of. Reason why is because I forced that game into a five-month hiatus, and I'd rather not distract myself from it too much again.

I would be quite interested to see a blind Earthbound LP from you. One of my top games ever.

I'm interested. I actually recommend you use the player's guide as you play though, because it originally came packaged with the game.

I think more than one person can do an LP of a game, although simultaneously, I can see where that would be inconvenient in the same circle.:P

Anyways, like myoky said- the guide came with the game(And it was exciting that it did, since it was a huge SNES box. I still remember grabbing it from Toys R Us). It's what we all had as kids, and a pdf can be found of it here:

http://starmen.net/mother2/publications/

It's at the bottom of the page.

Even if you just read at a behind pace(keeping the LP blind), it's super enjoyable and adds a lot of depth to the world. I fully believe it's part of the magic of Earthbound.

I really need to speed it out in my current LPs, cause I'm planning on doing a semi-blind run of Mother 3 haha. My HD corrupted back when the translation patch first came out, so I'm excited to see the end of the series.

Earthbound is my 2nd favorite game of all time. I am sure it will be enjoyable, magical, and memorable.:)

Well, I was about to say that I don't have the guide, but Fay sorta ruined that point. :P
I'm tempted to use the guide, as it would be something I'd have done back in the day, but I really don't like using guides anymore if I don't have to. The 64 Zelda experiences are the biggest reason why.

Whoopsie daisy. But yeah, the guide can now cost near as much as the game, so I think the pdf is the way to go. Like I said though, you can still totally play it by ear. Just read the guide as you go for the parts you already have done.:) It's not quite like a traditional RPG game guide, has all the little blurbs about different areas and art. :D

Actually, I might start this one later than expected. Seems a certain let's play I started last year that got flagged, just got un-flagged. I'm curious whether that means it's okay to let's play it, or if there was a certain period of time that it took for that particular video to get allowed. Might be that I'd record more episodes only to have them flagged, instead.

I say do it. I'm looking right now on youtube and there are a crap ton of Earthbound LPs out there.... none of which are flagged, and two of which are by fairly large names in the LP world; NintendoCaprisun and Chuggaaconroy. So I think you're fine.

Also, if any of us wanted to LP it some time down the road, I wouldn't see any problems with that. So you aren't ruining us from LPing it at some point if we so wish.

No, I mean more videos of that LP I started and got flagged might get flagged. Then again, maybe not, 'cause someone posted an LP on their web forums.

Is it the Sly one? I say give it a shot from what you've said. Flags aren't nearly as severe as copyright strikes.D:

Yeah, but if I get too many of them, that might hurt my account.
