Well, E3 2011 is over. What are your games of show?

Overall, this was a pretty middling E3, which is surprising since Nintendo revealed their new console at this one.

Microsoft made E3 the Kinect Konference, which didn't excite me at all.

Sony actually came back with some decent showings plus the amazing tech behind Vita, whose price point remains my most shocking moment of the show. At $250, Sony is gunning for Nintendo's 3DS and I'm currently on the sidelines. I'm thinking that by the time Vita is out, Nintendo will have dropped the price of the 3DS by a decent margin. But still, bravo to Sony for boosting the competition in the handheld field. Hell, I might actually get the Vita.

Nintendo unveiled the Wii U, whose controller and ideas left me confused (as usual with Nintendo ideas) until I realized all of the gameplay ideas that could be accomplished with the new controller. For example, Gearbox is working on Aliens: Colonial Marines and they're gonna use the controller like the motion sensor from Aliens. That's f*cking AWESOME. And that's just one of the multitude of things that will come of this. Another thing about the touchscreen is that now the Wii U could have the most buttons of any controller EVER if a dev decided to use the screen for buttons. I really hope devs push the hell outta that thing. On the 3DS front, having learned my lesson about getting Nintendo handhelds early, combined with the fact that there are no interesting games to get right now, I'm more than content to wait for the first hardware revision.

Games of Show:
Dragon's Crown
Paper Mario 3DS
Super Mario 3DS
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Battlefield 3
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Overstrike
Tomb Raider

For me, it all just comes down to what I'll buy.

Things I will buy:

  • Wii U
  • Vita
  • Skyward Sword
  • Luigi's Mansion 3DS
  • Super Mario 3DS

Things I will not buy:

  • Microsoft's garbage

I just pre-ordered the following on Amazon:

  • Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition
  • Paper Mario 3DS Paper Mario 3DS
  • Kirby Mass Attack
  • Luigi's Mansion 2
  • PlayStation Vita 3G+WiFi

I've had Skyrim pre-ordered for a while, along with Skyward Sword.

I wish the Wii U was available for pre-order.

God of War PSP collection for PS3
Paper Mario 3DS
Super Mario 3DS
Minecraft for Xbox

There were a lot of other games, but these were the only games revealed at E3. I don't thing that games announced prior should count.

I am probably one of the few people who is really excited to play Luigi's Mansion 2, that was probably my favorite thing I saw at E3 this year.

Well, I can't say I'm "really" excited. But I enjoyed the original, so I'm definately interested in seeing what they do with LM2.
