Perfect sequels to perfect games

SF1 is one of my all time favorite games and everyone who played it in the arcade at the time (1987-1990) loved it. Did you regularly play it before SF2 came out or only afterward? I do admit that anyone whose first primary SF experience was SF2 is not likely to think highly of the original but it was 'the bomb back in the day'.

I still have a hard time liking Legend of Mana. I mean, I DO... I just have a hard time keeping that feeling. Every time I play, it seems less and less like a good Mana game.

God of War 1 -> God of War 2... and hopefully God of War 3.
