TMNT: Turtles in Time REMAKE IS COMING!!!!

This year is the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and currently there is a TMNT Road Tour Van crossing America.

According to the Ninja Pizza blog a remake of TMNT: Turtles In Time is currently in the works. The game is set up the game is currently in Alpha, and plans to be released on Xbox Live Arcade, with a possible Virtual Console release of the original in the works as well.

Ninja Pizza have also posted several screenshots of the game, including screens from "Alleycat Blues" and "Skull and Crossbones" levels. It's complete with the purple foot soldiers of yore, and it is certainly riding on the classic vibe of the original cartoon. However according to the blog characters Tokka and Rahzar take the place of Bebop and Rocksteady for some reason.

Considering the huge popularity of TMNT 1989 on Xbox Live Arcade it's not surprising to see more Ninja Turtle games showing up on the service, but a complete remake is more than expected, and it doesn't look too bad for an Alpha build.

Turtles in time? Sweet! That was the best Turtles game ever! Looks really good too.

I read that, being based on the Arcade original, it may not include any of the SNES-exclusive stages.

And I hardly see why this matters other than control scheme. And even to that degree it really doesn't matter, because this will be freaking awesome reguardless which console it's on.

Well, I take that back. If there is going to be online play, screw Wii completely. I am not fooling with codes again to set up with friends. And there's STILL no built in chat feature yet. So XBLA for me.

It only matters if you don't have a Ps3 or an XBox360. I'm just happy that I'll be able to play it.

If that's the case, of course. I'm actually kind of itching to play some turtles in time right now. Last time I saw that game was in Atlanta a month or so ago.
