I dunno. Why not allow the option of turning off the regular cutscenes and have the animé ones exclusively?

Because getting rid of any of the original content would be a bad idea.

Ah, I see... sorry about that. I guess that's a little too much effort than they were willing to put in. Either that or they never even considered it. Ah well...

I'm about to take on the Ocean Palace. Soon, I'll be able to access the two new optional dungeons. Oh, and my arena monster is just about ready for Teir 5. I believe that Teir 6 is the last one. Woot.

So, would you say the DS game is better or worse than the big brother SNES version? 'Cause I'm sorta weighing my options. May just get the SNES game and watch the cutscenes on Youtube, like I had planned before CTDS was announced. Granted, I'm just a tad worried about getting a copy with a dead battery. But really, in all the games I have owned, the only game that had its battery die on me was Pokémon Crystal, and that's only because the game has a built-in clock. Heck, even my used copy of the original Zelda still had a funcitonal battery. My copy of FF3(6) is still working, and that came out before Chrono Trigger.

I can't quite answer that yet. I haven't done everything DS has to offer. But right now, I'd probably still say the original is still the way to go. The name changes and some of the translations weren't really all that great. Though it is nice to play through a new translation.
