I brought this up in my preview interview, but does anyone else have this problem? I mean, you are working on a game, and an idea for another game pops into your head, and you really just feel like giving up on the original game to go work on this new one? In the interview, I mention that right now, I'm throwing around 3 ideas for new games. Granted, I just bought 2 new PS2 memory cards, so that's not the issue in not starting anther game. I just want to get something completed for the summer contest, and with my hours at work hovering around 30 and with a class on Tuesday night, I do not know how much time I'm going to be able to invest in Series 3. There's still so much more work to do on it...I know this for a fact after I played the submitted demo for a while. I'm not too happy with it. Granted, I am going to add extra stuff, but the gameplay to me seems a bit monotonous. I might play the RPGM 2 game The Farm Life to see if it sparks any ideas, without wholesale ripping it off.
I do have another idea, though. This idea would involve a LOT of text input, but not a heavy amount of programming, so it will probably go fairly quickly. This one, I'm keeping a secret, though. If I can progress fairly quickly on this, I might submit this instead for the contest. I would like comments, however, on how viable a text-heavy game would be on RPGM 3. Meaning, if the text was interesting enough, would you be willing to look past the fact that you have to keep hitting the button to advance the text? And that god-awful "typing" noise during the storytellers...unfortunately, I think there is no way to turn this off. So what do you think? Am I crazy for even contemplating starting something new NOW with the Pav contest ending in 2 months? Thanks for your time...
