Hello everyone.
The thread I made in chat about the "girl who shoots bow with feet" has been getting a lot of spam due to our "So lovingly Super Mods." I really do understand the way they feel about You tube cluttering up the chat threads. I have no problem sticking and obeying to and rules of placement for a topic. However, its also our job to make the mag least confusing as possible. And thats why I'm here.

I understand that there's a thread that has been made for You tube topics. The thread has not gotten very far yet. But I see it being a problem down the road with all the You tube we like to talk about. If I want to talk about a You tube movie lets say,"of mice and men" And everyone else wants to talk about Star wars, and Mr. T. The whole thread is going to be full of a spam mess of different topics. It will almost be like an off topic thread about 1000 different topics.

Also the thing is.. I really like something I found on you tube. And I want everyone to stick to that topic. I don't want to hunt through all the posts just to see if Draygone for an EX, likes that same flick. If I find something cool, funny or odd, I want to hear what everyone thinks about that one topic. Not for vid #10 to be ignored and to be talked about topic number 5.
Granted any topic can be ignored even if its buy it self. But I'd like to take the 50%/ 50% chance. Then just have it caught in the middle of 100 other
vids.

What would happen if we did away with the video game studio? And just made one thread on just games? I would think it would be a kinda of a mess, right?

I'm just suggesting, for all the you tube movies that are out. Maybe we should make something for that.

A new section in the forums called "Video Section"? Or "Youtube Section?"

First, I'll say that I didn't really care for the implied tone of "So lovingly Super Mods." They (we) are just doing their jobs and trying to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Second, there has been quite a surge of youtube posts lately, and I am currently undecided on whether they clutter up the forum or not. (Leaning to yes..)

I know that Sumisem is working on a reorganization of the chat forum (as a result of our Fireside Chat 2006) and I will talk to her about the possibility of a video subforum. I can't guarantee, though, if the idea will have enough momentum to move forward.

We'll keep you updated.

^ Sorry and forgive for my sarcasm. I was just being cute for point out what everyone seems to noticing. I never agree that theres only one option in the world. I think you knew this about me from day one Owolf. The Mods have been on my back. And I will bow down to them when I see that there is no other way. As for now I'm seeing whats available.

As well, I do forget that some of you have a job to the mag. I seem to talk to everyone as if where all on the same level, because I'd like to think, we are all friends. As I "do" really "know" your my superiors.

I agree with KK's point. It'll be confusing and cluttered if we use a single Youtube topic, and I want to talk about Video X when everybody else is talking about Video Y.

just reference the video you're talking about or quote the previous comment.

we've managed to juggle multiple conversations in one thread before, i see no special need for it now. Besides, it's not like we actually have 'hundreds' of youtube vids. We have like... five, or something stupid. Considering that the interest in any one vid can only really last so long, i see no need for seperate topics for each.

as it is, KK herself is claiming that the actual S Mods are spamming in her thread. More and smaller threads just means more opportunities to go off-topic. Which, the last time i looked, was generally disapproved of.

(So i'm against it, but... freakishly enough... i'm actually on the same side of the discussion as Duelpro. Whatever his name is today.

if we had more videos by maybe a factor of ten, i'd see this as a legitimate problem worth distracting the time and resources of already people. As it is, i have to admit i can't.

Sumisem has plans for all this, so I'm not worried in the slightest. I do think we'll need a little reformatting in the future, but don't take my word on it.

in all technicality i PLAN to have plans in the future... would RATHER have plans in the now... currently away from most computer access.
don't have a lot of time to sit down and look at the forums.

whenever i get my computer back online though - the forums are the first thing i want to look after.

^I know the feeling. As you know I have games going here at the mag. And I'm having trouble my self getting on. I'm looking forward to all of your new ideas and plans Sumi.

But for now, sigh I don't know if I should keep posting You tube no matter how cool something is. I don't want everyone to keep getting upset with me. Even if I know in my heart, all I want to do is good.

You want to know why the topic would get cluttered? Because a lot of people here can't stay on one train of thought. Many people like to bounce around like they're on a sugar high or an acid trip and talk about random sh*t. It can be made very organized and everyone could be on the same topic of discussion if everyone could hold on to ONE TRAIN OF THOUGHT. Besides, it should be hard to know which video is being talked about. Honestly, in my opinion, the topics in the chat create clutter. If they were in one topic (and done right) or in their own sub forum, there would be no problem. However, two of the three cases are non-preferable, and I'm not too in favor of creating a forum for videos.

Video games is something that a lot of people do in their spare time. We've played A TON of them. That's why there's a forum for it. YouTube videos have recently popped up because you started posting them because you were bored. Not exactly a good reason. It could be considered spam by some. While it was not spam (in my eyes), it still can be considered such.

And enough with the dramatics. "Bow down?" Why belittle yourself so much? Honestly. We may be moderators, but damn, we're not royalty or anything of the sort. And we're not always on your backs. You probably think I'm always on your back. I'm not. One thing I noticed about you though, is that if I lay something down in response your topic, you bait me. Try to do less of that and I won't get agitated.

I have a bit of net time today, so i'll see what i can do now. wish i had a lot more net time on it though.

Because we are bored.. Humm. the whole reason for a chat is so we have something to talk about.

If we where not bored we would be busy. And if we where busy we would have no time to chat.

I disagree, The reason why Youtube is popping up is because not everyone knows about it or does any digging for good flicks.

AND! Theres always new Youtube vids being made everyday.



The only thing that bugs is when people say, NO, NO, NO.. With no good reason. And there are some no's I do agree with. Its not good to spam because others who want to read a topic for what it is, should not have to weed out all the junk. It's also not good to be mean to others. Because we want the world to know that the mag is a happy place. I see on other forums people flame and swear and that is not a good thing. Thats not a forum that I would want to be on. And I don't blame others who feel the same way.

Theres nothing wrong with you tube. And yet theres a problem here with it. I feel like your saying "theres no other way but the highway" your giving me a no. So I'm finding out how to make it better.
If I yelled at Facts for no reason I can understand people getting upset. If I started over riding the swear filters I can also understand why thats something to be mad about.

But every time " a random topic" comes up. That not many had a good chance to really think about. People get upset because, I want to know why. I should never get yelled at for posting here in suggestions. Never. Unless I'm saying and doing something really wrong. I don't think I am.
I also think I'm a nice person.

I want you to know I don't hate you KA, I can't really hate anyone. Maybe
for a day or two. I don't enjoy feeling angry. So I shrug things off. I know your just doing your job. However I also understand its going to take the mag a bit of time to get new ideas and things better flowing around here. I want there to be new ideas. And I would want you to be open minded to new ideas as well.

I want to leave every bit of the past between you and I KA in the past. For now ever and always. I plan on being here at the mag for a long time. And I want us to try to get along. I want us to be a team.
