then why don't you have more normal classes?? it's all band, don't you need like, math and science or something too?

Just one math class my second semester: finite math.

The only General Studies classes I could take this semester were English Comp. 2, Western Civilization, and Visual Arts


It's mostly band stuff because, well, that is my Academic Major: Music Education. Imma Band nerd all the way.

So... you could pick one of the ever-useful things like science or math, and instead you pick... Visual Arts?

Man, I WISH I could do that.

Well, sax mainly, but I did take up sousaphone one year in high school.

But through the course of 4 years, I have to learn every traditional band instrument--a requirement of my major in Instrumental Music Education.

You mean you're not majoring in Emoticon Art with a minor in Lupine Mythology? Oh boo!... oh well, WHERE are you studying? I've got some friends at Julliard and Eastman School of Music.

I'm good, but not THAT GOOD when it comes to actual performance. I am going into TEACHING (I am going to be a high school band director)

I am going to Troy University, in Troy, AL. A very small school, however, there are currently more band directors working today that graduated from Troy than from ANYWHERE else. Plus, it's only about two and a half hours from home. Far enough away to be "out on my own" yet close enough to drive back every now and then.
