I got my first semster schedule!

I am going to Troy University, in Troy, AL. A very small school, however, there are currently more band directors working today that graduated from Troy than from ANYWHERE else. Plus, it's only about two and a half hours from home. Far enough away to be "out on my own" yet close enough to drive back every now and then.

Both my friends that went to those schools have parents that teach as well.. but either way, I have total respect for Marching Coreographers and Dance Teams. To be able to have visual magic morph like that and still make the music work as well is awesome. I helped my Band high school year as section leader for Lower Brass, Souzaphones, Trombones and Euphoniums. We had to have all our music memorized, none of that flip book music on a portable stand.

Good luck on that, After high school I went on to the Armed Forces and handled paperwork, but occasionally called cadence during drill sessions. And who says Band couldn't prepare you for other things in life. I played Taps on the bugle one night, and helped train the music ensemble for my junior divison.
