I went to a Renaissance Faire in Massachussettes. It's called the King richards faire and they have a joust, and stage shows. they also have a crap load of shops with over priced trinkets. Other than that though they also have a blacksmith on site and the guy makes REAL (honest to God) swords. thease arent your run of the mill army baracks P.O.S.'s, these puppies have some weight to them and are SOLID. An edge would hold nicely to one. But I digress. I went down with my GF, and we spent two nights. After the faire we went and saw a movie because...well lets just say aunt flo was paying her a visit, and being a nasty little chaperone.

*ahem* (moving on)
We saw Corpse bride. I wont spoil it for you, but I will say that you can disreguard what the critcs are saying. It ain't all it's cracked up to be. (miss it)

But that is not the reason I made this post. You see, When was down there I was in coustume! So was my GF. I was in the huma Chess match and my GF got pictures of that. However I have yet to get said pictures from her. But that's ok, because I brought my own camera and took lots of pictures of the joust. And one of my GF, and then I gave her my camera and she took one of me. And here it is.


I made the pants, and the cape. the rest I eaither had on hand or ordered online. Yhe pants took me the better part of a month to sew, mainly because I did the whole thing BY HAND. the cape on the other hand only took me 5 days to make. Go fig.

And to prove I actualy have one...


She made the dress ALL BY HERSELF. I know it;s hard to see, but it was after 5 when we took those photos, so the light was bad, and the flash was a peice of crap. Weird story, Some guy we met who was part of the cast had some weird fetish for kissing her feet. we met him several times. I have no photo of him, sorry!

oh, BTW, to get a good Idea of how tall she is, that's my car to her right (your left). I drive a Ford Explorer currently, and she is standing pretty much next to the mirror on the pasanger side.

Why didn't you ask someone if you could use their sewing machine for a couple of hours. Pants are not hard to make when you have a sewing machine. It's basically sew back to front, and then up and down the legs. <_<

I did it by hand because the last time I made pants with a sewing machine the crotch came undone. I found this out when I was sitting on a stump with my legs partialy open. It woulden't have been so bad had my boxers not shifted to the side. THANK GOD I was wearing a cummerbund that was just a long red strip of fabric I had tied around my waist. The dangaling parts were the only thing covering up MY dangling parts.

Any way. That is why I did it by hand. I didn't trust the machine to do a strong enough stitch.
