2 weeks till my bloody Duke of Edinburgh Gold award expedition. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a 5-day hike, about 13 miles a day, up the highest mountains in the country. We carry a bag, weighing about 40-45 pounds, like carrying a f*cking wardrobe. Camping every night, cooking our own food, etc. It's gonna be hell.

Why are you doing it if you don't want to? <_<

because:

1) i feel i have to now

2) it'll be nice to be one of, like, 300 people in the country to do it. i'm not normally in the elite for anything, so i'd like to feel i can do something

3) i already did the other sections of the award, and i don't feel like throwing away a years work now.

4) i'm stupid

and, besides, i suspect there's a part of me that likes it.
