I just got my order of 100 PS1 controllers for use with project Kupid. Net cost to me per controller: $0.30 each.

My order arrived in two big boxes. Photos below.

So there you have it. The answer to one of life's greatest mysteries: "What do 100 PS1 controllers look like?"

Now comes the fun part: testing each and every one of them.

If you have RPGM2, I'd recommend testing using it. You could make a simple script that tells you every button that gets pressed. Don't forget the analog presses, if they have them. L3 and R3 might be relatively unknown and unused, but they're there.

Actually, I have a PC adapter. I can just plug each controller into my computer and see the buttons being pressed on my screen.

But, yeah, it's going to be a pain testing them all. What will be more of a pain is cleaning the insides. I don't care how much you think you clean your controller, there is all kinds of dead skin and disgusting gunk that builds up in the seal between the two halves of the controller's plastic case. The only way to clean it is to open it up; really.

Wow... I almost want to like... lay in them. You know, like after you rake up a pile of leaves in your parents front yard? Though, it'll probably not be near as comfortable as leaves.

Somehow I don't think that it would be very pleasant. Especially when you consider that these are all used controllers covered in other people dried up sweat, dead skin, and god knows what else. At least these PS1 controllers don't have the vibration motors. *shudder*
