See this topic for background info.

How many people would be interested in a sprite generator for RPG Maker 1? Would you use it? Do you think I should create it? (Once I finish Kupid, of course)

Why do people always say stuff like that when I tell them about my project ideas. Ewww. >_<

Glad to hear someone is interested, though.

I have managed to pull the first 20 spritesheets from RPG Maker. There are around 60 or so total, as such it will take me a bit to pull all of them out of the game - I'm focusing on Kupid now, I just did the first twenty as a test. Once I finish getting them all out, I can start trying to figure out the best way of splicing them up and then build a database of character parts/components.

This isn't to say that I am absolutely doing this whole thing myself - it would be nice if I had some help splicing the sprites, or drawing custom components, or something. I am used to being the lone hero, though (really... I won an award back in 2007 for it). But, we'll cross that road when we come to it.

I think there'd have to be custom components, yes. Cat ears and tails, for the win.

plus I bet the rmvx sprite generator could be used to take some components from and resize if needed

Once I get a template drawn up, then people could start drawing custom parts. When the system is complete, people will be able upload them to the system for others to use. I could incorporate the ability to rate/review components, among other things.

Potentially - I don't know what kind of licensing is attached to those parts, so I may not be able to use them in my system. Maybe use them for drawing reference.

Ack... Kupid... Getting back to work...
