I'm new here, (sort of)
I've lurked these forums for a very long time lol.
But I really need to take this seriously now,
as I would really like to accomplish something!
I would love it, if someone could offer some help,
seeing as I totally lack in the RPGM knowledge.
I have tons of ideas, and different things written down,
I just need some help on the RPGM knowledge part.

I'm not worried about making my game a game quite yet,
I'm looking for maybe some help from anyone,
maybe tutorial videos, and different things to give me a basic idea of what all I can do with the game,
after learning some basic stuff, I'm going to create a very little adventure of my own to learn and adapt some more,
once I feel comfortable, I will start actually working.

I've played all sorts of games here, and enjoyed them all!
all unique in their own way,
I'd really like to contribute my own works.

And I'd like to deliver a big apology to Lausen!
for the play tester scenario :(

Thank you everyone,
I really appreciate all of you for your time and dedication to some amazing games!
and good luck to those still creating ;)

Your best bet for most anything helpful is a resource topic made by Karr: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6747

welcome indeed. which rpg maker are you experimenting with and have you come up with a game idea of your own to work on? check out the resource topic that ice has procured in his post and poke around the site. if you need specific help then by all means post your question and we will try to answer it.

well, from what I can tell RPGM3 is the easiest to work with,
but I'm thinking of going with RPGM1 for it's the one I'm most familiar with.
I've already got a lot of ideas, I've just got to put them in order and whatnot,
and decide how to place everything, what's going where etc.

I'm just looking around, trying to learn some more about the scripting, what can be done and whatnot,
I'm trying to familiarize myself and create a quick little game to understand how everything works before I start my actual product.
Once I finalize some character information, I'd love to share the Characters! hopefully soon, we'll see!
thanks for your replies 1ce and Karr.

Blast it all. I new that would have come in handy had I started it sooner. I was actually planning to do a series of videos for RPG Maker 1. Ah well... eventually. Anyways, welcome to the site. There's some Dr. Pepper in the fridge, just keep your mits off my strawberry caprisuns. I think 1ce keeps some lunchables in there too. *wink wink*

I've got 2 12 packs of Monster to blow through, as well as Sonic which I just got home with (delicious) so I'll pass on that for now, besides I'd rather not be rude :p
As for the videos, maybe you should have started them sooner! JERK! :p
No worries, totally understandable, you just keep your focus on SoE for the time being!
And as for the question from Duel,
I do have an account at the pav, though I don't remember if I posted anything or not,
like I said, I've been lurking these forums for a while :p

Well the good news is,
I've started a little project to help familiarize myself with RPG Maker.
I'm not sure if it will ever be completed or publicly released,
as it's just my little test game I guess you can say.
The title as of now is "Joseph and the Book of Adventures"
just a little concept I put together quickly.

anyways,
onto another subject,
I am in the middle of playing some games from this site,
I may see about writing down some thoughts of the game,
a sort of review, though nothing fancy.

Hey JoeyLYCAN,

Welcome to the mag. You'll like it here. It's a very unique place.

Have a great time making your RPG Maker 1 game and checking out games made by other people. That's the best part of a community like this.

Have a great day!

Well I have some good news, and some bad news,
bad news is, I still have a lot to learn about the RPG Maker games before I can create any full games,
and also, time is not something I have a lot of unfortunately.
I started trying to play games from this site, but I kind of put that off so I can focus more on the learning side.
Good news is, I am starting to learn little by little all the different things I can do with the makers,
I've just been playing around with all sorts of different things, mostly in RPGM1 as that will probably be the one I use :p
My little starter project is going very nicely, it's very very crappy, but it's only for learning purposes, so I'm okay with that!
But I'm going to continue hanging around here, checking things and learning more, and hopefully one day, I'll have a game to release!
thank you for your time as this was much longer than anticipated!
and if you have anything to contribute to my learning, please do :)

Hey JoeyLCAN
That's cool that you've decided to use RPG Maker 1 for sure.
One thing I have learned that I'd like to pass on to you is that in RPG Maker 1, object 39, set to color three (invisible) provides you with an invisible tile that can be walked on.

Looking forward to hearing about your game whenever it is released. :)
