Like, what do you do? Myself, I generally pace around and daydream about the game. Sometimes I'll get a fresh idea like that. If I'm by myself, I'll even talk out loud. Maybe, just for the fun of it, I should record myself in one of these talk-pacing situations.

Most of my game ideas occur as I am doing other things. When I have an idea I want to remember I write it down in a notebook.

If I am working on something and need a link between ideas I sit there (or walk around) and imagine the flow of the game as though I am already playing it. If I think something is good I keep it and if it is bad I ask "why" and try to generate a different idea that has the same benefits without the same shortcomings.

Life is my brainstorm... and a little bit of creativity here and there.

my brainstorming revolves around a topic or theme. i think through a problem and contemplate ways to overcome it. i often do this while im doing dishes or grocery shopping.

sometimes i add them to the master story board so i dont forget though many times ill just implement it right away when i get home. other times ill brainstorm it and just forget it all together.

I'll take time and think about certain things I've enjoyed from past games. Often, I will lay down, look at the ceiling, and think about how to make things come together in my mind. Then I write it down.

I usually don't have any brainstorming ideas; they just come to me doing everyday things. And when I have a project idea in mind I research it further, which may or may not bring up new ideas.

I'm not sure I can brainstorm very well. Usually I write down the goal for brainstorming, list my assets and liabilities, provide examples of how other games have done it (or research an appropriate way to do it from a book) and come up with some solutions. Afterwards, I'll run through my list and check to see which ones I like the best.
