I-I se-um..

I seem to um...

I-I seem...

I seem to have inadvertently begun making...

...an actual game in RPGM 3. :blush

It's not my fault really. How could it have been? I simply wanted to experiment, see what the software had to offer. I thought it might spark me back to VIKINGMAN!...

The interest has returned, yes, but RPGM 3 is so easy to use.

Am I weak? Should I resist and go back to RPGM 1? It was my first time after all...I NEED to finish that game...

MUST THE WORLD WAIT LONGER FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF THE EVIL WIZARD THOUSAND!?!? :shakefist

So torn...

Torn like the shattered pieces of the Broken Angel
Must...find...pieces...
Must...get...revenge...on...evil...gods...

:cry

Congrats. No matter which RPGM one prefers, everyone would do well to try making at least one game on each one they own.

Now, the real question. Do you enjoy using RPGM3?

(in Nelson's voice) AH HA! You enjoy it!

I actually STILL have Second To The Last Final Fantasy sequel I was working on, it was nearly finished but having to go rework the battles made me abandon the game altogether. I hate RPGM3.

Well, ok. So here is the low down on this game.

The Game is called Broken Angel.

The plot goes something like this (well the back story anyway)

long ago in heavean before the world was created, an agel asked the gods if she could make a world. They found the idea quaint so they let her make one, fully expecting it to be about the equivalent to a child's drawing next to the mona lisa of their own worlds.
Thing is that she ended up making a world that was by far even better than heaven! Oops. Well the Gods got all huffy about this, and put the angel on trial for some trumped up charges, but since she realy didn't do any thing technicaly wrong nothing could stick. Still, being fed up with the whole process the angel decended in to her own world to live out her days in self exile, which she figured would suit everyone involved just fine.
So time passed and the people of her world made her a queen (big surprise) and the Angel was happy.
But the gods took insult to the fact that the angel was happier in her own world than the existence that they furnished her in heaven and so decided enough was enough and turned her to stone. Well her people weren't going to let this fly so they began praying for the agel and she ALOMST became a god herself. Unfortunately she had turned completely to stone before this happened so she was S.O.L.
After this the gods shattered her body and scattered the pieces all over her world, opened up the planar barriers allowing their imperfect creations to flood in (in an effort to dissuade people from searching for the pieces, and then wrote the whole thing off as taken care of.
As for the angel, she swore vengeance on the gods, and promised that their day would come.

more time passed and people told stories of the angel, but over time the story changed and parts got garbled untill the story was that if you find all of the angels parts, you will be granted a great power.

And hence the game.

Religious stuff. Cool.

I had a similar story about five penitent demons who were tired of doing Satan's bidding, so they went renegade and tried to seek out a way of getting back in God's good graces. They were unsuccessful but never gave up on it. They thought that if they could create a world and manage it, they could show God that they're trying to be like him. Each of the five espouses a Godly trait. Compassion. Unconditional love. Righteousness. Honor and civility. And a love of all life. They built their world using the "building blocks" that God had already created in the universe, and seeded it with life taken from primordial oceans in worlds that had yet to develop.

It turned out well, although Satan sent someone there to gum up the works. There's a whole religion based around the five Creators, and a religion based around Satan's agent.

Yeah try making these religious games with RPGMs 1 or 2. They will look ridiculous. That is one advantage of RPGM3. It has a mature look to it. Unless of course your games are less philosophical and more teen fantasy. I suppose then you could make it old school for RPGM1. There is no getting around the fact though for all the sophistication and control of RPGM2, every game will always look like it is for kids.

Well, only religious in the sense that I'm using religious terms because they are convenient alliterations of the concepts I'm trying to espouse. Really it is its own in game religion, if you want to call it that. Really each "god" has his or her own realm of creation, and one could also suppose that the beings on those planes would also worship those same gods with their own unique religions. It wasn't and isn't the main intent of the game.
