i spent over an hour prepping an article only for it to say: "There is no url. Press back and add one." when i hit back it erased everything i wrote. i think you better explain every piece of that article forum, since its now wasted my time.

im pissed off so im not going to be adding any reviews anytime soon.

And that's why I always pre-write my stuff in Wordpad.

i have the review all done i just had to sort and rewrite some of the things to match the right criteria. i should of cut every column and saved it just for such an occasion but i wasnt expecting to get the shaft for a url i dont need.

i dont understand some of the other fields.

I apologize for the bug that caused this situation. The bug in this case is a scripting one, which causes the script to konk out instead of warning about a missing piece of the article and allowing you to make the correction.

I did not expect anyone to leave any of the fields blank, but I was also not clear that everything in the Basic Information section needed to be filled in.

For information purposes, the article url is the filename given to the file that is going to be created. The filename is required to be inputted by the writer because taking the name of the file from the title would create, in most cases, an unwieldy filename.

This is the first time, though, that I have had anyone make a complaint against the fields. Which ones are you having problems with?

noose-nse aside, i dont understand them, it seams to be too many of the same fields.

a regular title, a database title, then an article title? why should i have 3 titles? sub title is fairly obvious out and the first title must be the main one but what doesnt make sense is a database title?

what do i need for a url. do i need to make up a name and put .html or something?

do i have to use full html coding for all boxes and whats with the negative positive word. can i delete that or will it produce a + automatically?

for the overall what do i put in the box. do i put the percentage or do i put the amount out of 100 they got right (using the .25 intervals?)

For the record, that bug has been squashed completely.

The regular title is the title displayed normally. Thus, you would see "The Apple" on the main page.

The database title allows sorting to work correctly. If I sorted by name, then there would be a lot of games that would be under "T". A lot of "the, a, an"s. So by putting in "Apple, The", it makes the database work simpler.

For the url, as it mentions on the creator, you don't need a file extension (.html/.php/.etc). Simply type a name for the article, like "The Apple", which will turn into "the_apple_review.php" once processed. However, here's something that has not been addressed. If you enter a name that has already been used for a game, the script will not allow you to process.

In this case, though, pressing back on your browser and allowing it to resend the data (press yes when it asks), will save all of your work. I have tested this and I guarantee that it will work. All you have to do then is change the article url and you're set.

You do not need to input html coding for the boxes at all. However, if you want to bold some text or put spaces between paragraphs, then you do need to use the given code to achieve the effect.

You can delete the pos/neg words out of the boxes. It was simply placed there to show the difference between boxes. However, I think I can simply change the area color. It'll be a lot easier to use then.

For overall, where it says "blank . blank", you will use it like "8 . 25". The form will automatically count the other values you place into the fields. Like "82/100" in this case.

If you have any suggestions on coding it otherwise that doesn't need the required feilds, by all mean. ^_^

And like Dray, if it's going to be a good deal of text, I always do it in notepad first and copy it over. That goes for posts in the forum too. There have been a time or two that I've accidently lost the text from navigating away from the page or closing it and such....

It's a good practise.

Not bad, but there's various typos here and there. Misspelled "were" as "where" in multiple places, "supper" instead of "super", some missed capitalization... You also seemed to forget the <br> tags in the Fu-Fu review.

I recommend better proofreading of your stuff and making ample use of the "Preview Article" button. If you fix these two, you've got my vote.
