1. RPG Maker 3 uses variables.
2. I don't know if RPG Maker 3 has any security in that regard.

4. I'm not exactly sure myself, but when I find out, I'll document it in the Variable Guide.

It would make sense if they took it out, really.. I remember there being lots of complaints about people getting locked out of their own games and such because of the password feature..
