New here and was wondering if anyone has come up with a way (or formula) to make it so that my characters can level up and the game will not be unbalanced. I had a system that worked up until I leveled the monsters up to make them tougher. Things got very unbalanced from there... I tried to fix it by adjusting the monster levels, but no go, even on only level 2 they were either too tough or too weak. Oh, and I dont want to use the sample monsters, I want to "create" my "own".

Oh man, I've been testing the first dungeon for almost 2 days now... I'll take another look at the monsters and try to figure something out...

I responded to someone elses question about this...you should check that out. Also, weapons & equipment helps a lot. You can have your characters have stronger weapons & equipment at that point in the game to match the strength & defense of the monsters. 1
