OK, my knowledge about this, is very limited...
When switching a sprite to 16 color mode thingy (in MSPaint), the sprites I want to convert messes up pretty badly. And I can't seem to be able to "fix it" with the option of colors I'm given. For example, there's no color I can use to paint someone's skin. So am I stuck with this, or should I get something else that's not MSPaint?

try to use anime maker, its much more forgiving. most sprites you try to import will look like crap by the time you finish sizing and color pallet swapping. tell me what your looking for in the sprite and ill see if i can make something for you, ive made a ton of sprites so im pretty savvy. im not anything close to spiffy though, so dont expect gorgeous rendering, that will come in time.

oh wow i see exactly what you mean now. i decided to go ahead with the conversion even though it botched things up badly. i transported it to anime maker and have fixed some of the colors and am right now trying to reconstruct her upper body (the crown turned out better then i could of hoped). once i get her body fixed i can then trim her hair to make it look right and show you what i got.

i wasnt able to find a picture of peaches crown from the backside, so ill ask: does it have a red jewel on the backside of the crown or is it just gold?

She has a jewel on the back too, but it's blue.

here ya go, i hope the sprite turned out alright.

this was more difficult then i first thought. i ended up rebuilding the sprite, especially adding in some extra features that didnt turn out and completely redoing the face first sprite portion.

Yeah, in case it's not obvious, never use MS Paint to convert sprites to 8-bit. It never works. I personally only use it for editing, and do the converting in a program called Gimp.
