Here's something I recently thought up:

Tim's Musicial Rhyming Adventure!

This idea would borrow a lot of ideas from many current games.

Tim is a traveling guitarist, and...well, who really cares about story, let's get to the meat and potatoes.

I'd like the game to center on music. Tim is a travelling guitarist, and would have a guitar as his weapon. More importantly, I'd want the player to be able to pull out the guitar at any point and play a song (obvious refence to Zelda: OoT) depending on what music he's learned so far.

I'd also like the game to have rather open ended, with attenion to various locations that must be revisited, rather than be visited once and never mentioned again. Again, similiar to OoT.

And like OoT, I'd like to employ a full day/night system with time passing as you adventure, with certain shops open and closed depending on the current time. I've already devised such a system for RPGM1, and it's worked fairly well in playtests.

I would ideally make it a short game, for two reasons: one, making a game with all these features would be quite a task in itself, and two: Most big projects that are made by one person almost never see the light of day (Look at Slayer's Reign for a decent example: It's not that Draygone isn't a talented rpgm user, it's just the pressure of making such a large game evenually wears people down).

And yes, everyone in the game will rhyme. It'd be a quirky way to set the game apart. It's a brilliant idea, just look at Grunty from Banjo Kazooie.

Well, I have other projects I'm working on now, but this is something I'd like to work on soon.

I like the idea but wouldn't you have to fill the area with events to play the instrument at any time?

Yep. Which is something I would have to do to make the day/night system work anyway, so not a terrible loss.

Hence why the game is short. This game will eat up scenario data.
