It can't be done.

If I'm not mistaken, he refers to RM1 seeing as a topic like this popped up in the chat a few days ago.

So if I'm wrong... I'll be wasting a good bit of time typing. ^_^

*clears throat*

To turn it on, you just go into your system settings. There will be an option to turn on magic classes. With this turned off... all magic will do exactly the amount of damage you want it to... which seemes to be the quite common in RM1 games today. If you turn it on though, you get 4 magic classes.

MagicA
MagicB
MacicC
None

None is what you set for enemies who you don't want to take any extra (or less) damange from spells. All spell will do normal damage as if you have Magic Class disabled.

The other three classes are what the system works off of. It's bascially as Dray said... rock, papper, scissors.

First, We will go ahead and rename the magic spells to something a little easier to follow (you can do this on the same screen were you can rename anything else in RM1 like what you call Gold, Exp, Att...ect).

MagicA - Lightning
MagicB - Water
MacicC - Fire

It might seem strange why one element does more damage to one you think it might be strong too... that's not the point. As long as you understand how the system works, you can work out the names for the classes yourself.

I guess the first think you need to know is that using a spell on an enemy with the same element is a pretty bad idea. If you cast fire on a fire based enemy, it'll only do 25% of it's normal damage. Same goes for Lightning and Water.

Lightning will do 150% damage to Water, but only 50% damage to Fire.
Water will do 150% damage to Fire, but only 50% damage to Lightning.
Fire will do 150% damage to Thunder, but only 50% damage to Water.

If that doesn't make much sense, break all the elements back down to their original names (MagicA-C) and just kind of try and figure out how to work it out with elements you want for your RPG.

Better yet, look in the instruction manual because there's a wonderful little chart that explains the magic system a little diffrently.
