ya do you like games that are relly straght forward with few side quests or games that have menay sidequests but not as much story? or last but not least games with a good balnce of sidequests and story.

The answer is, what type of game do you like? If you try to make a game just to impress people, you will not have very much fun making your game, and your game will suffer. It's hard giving something your all when you don't like it.

But, in the case of this being a simple poll (you didn't specify), I like mostly straightforward games with a few good sidequests/minigames along the way. If a game gives me too much to do, I get lost a little too easy.

i like games which contain 4 things:

1) DEATH; a sure fire winner every time

2) small people who use magic

3) no romantic interest at all. BORING!

4) Cid Highwind

of course, this could lead to problems, also litigation.

In terms of sidequests, i'm with Draygone. For me, it's all about puzzles and tactical battling, etc. Forget finding some old guy's gardening tools, etc, because that kind of stuff is NOT FUN. Sez I.

i like a game with action

The story is more impotant to me than any other aspect... if you don't have a story, you don't have a game. IMHO.

Yup. An game needs storyline above anything else, with a cool battle system (whether we're talking about RPG's or not) and characters that don't suck.

Romantic situations ... I agree with Regal; no, not necessary at all .... But look at me talk. There's already too much of that stuff going on in SOE, and I really didn't see it coming.

Opera scenes... that way every game will be cool like FF6?

What's that you say? You don't think Mortal Kombat needs an opera scene?
