Removing equipment from a character is easy. But I've messed around with the features, looked on FAQs, well, I haven't found a way of forcing the character to equip something (in the middle of the game, not from the start).

That can be either a REALLY dumb question and I just don't get it, or it is indeed impossible... which one? =P

Nope, not possible. Only option I can think of is to force the character to equip the weapon by not allowing them to continue until they do so. Item page conditions don't check equipped items.

That wouldn't work for me, unfortunately. The situtation is that a character gets transformed by some forbidden magic into a monkey. I wished to remove equiped weapons and replace them with cursed weapon&shield called "Hands". The option I'm currently using is to have the character with the cursed items equiped from the beginning, since the transformation is also not very far from the start of the game.

Ah, whatever. Curiosity: Is forcing equipment possible in RPGM2? They say 'you can do anything', so I guess it is, isn't it?

Yes, it's possible to force equipment in RPGM2. I'm not sure if "cursed" equipment is possible with the click of a button or you have to use some special coding for it to work, though. There is no monkey model in RPGM2, either, though I was able to make one much like RPGM1's by recoloring the baby model, and put a VFX on his butt consisting of a boomerang for the tail, and a magic ring and a couple flattened orbs for use as the bow on the tail.

If your character gets turned into a monkey, though, it would actually make sense if he was switched to a separate monkey character at a lower level with the cursed equipment already on. I mean, if you were turned into a monkey, would you be able to fight as well as you did before? Not to mention there'd have to be different stats anyway since the monkey likely isn't as strong as a human, yet at the same time possibly faster.

I'm still considering that option, I don't know if I'll do it. As for the stat changes, I just changed skills (from the original to 'Monkey', which has Int decrease, Agi increase and etc).

Hmmm, something to work on. And I'm still planning on getting myself RPGM2. Sounds interesting :evil

Changing Skills in RPGM1 only alters the stats gained upon leveling up. It does not affect the character's current stats.

I figured that out while messing around with the game engine.

But it actually doesn't make much of a difference in this case, since the character will be at level 2~3 by the time of the change.

The only big impact is a great reduction of Intelligence, which will have basically the same effect as 'from now on, you keep the intelligence you had and gain almost no more'. And that's okay for the situation.

Well I guess it doesn't matter too much if they're early in the quest. Though perhaps along with a Skill change, you could also do some slight direct alterations with the character's stats in an event.
