One puzzle that I made in a game several years ago was a maze that required you to push boxes in certain directions to clear a path in front of you. There were lots of ways you could push the boxes, but depending on your choice, you either made it to the item that was your goal or you died.

Plenty. Trust me. RPGM1 doesn't fare that well in the mini-game department (though some are possible), but the creation of puzzles is one of RPGM1's stronger points, though the bigger ones tend to take up more memory/swtiches. About the only types of puzzles you can't easily create (possible, but not worth it unless it were a stand-alone game) are Tetris-like puzzles.

A few things that can be puzzles (notably, ones I've used):

Log-rolling. Particularily for forest-area puzzles. It'll require creationg logs in Anime Maker. Genrally, you "push" a log, and it rolls until it hits something. Some logs you have to push in a certain order in order to access specific areas.

Ice maze. Place a few boulders to block your path, and a few patches of non-slippery snow to stop on. The general idea is to create events around the snow patches that, when stepped on, has the player slip (well, walk) across the ice until hitting an obstacle or landing on another snow patch.

TNT puzzles. Place a group of boulder events, and a switch event to go with them. Flip the switch, have the boulders blow up, and a new path is open. For a little added challenge, make it so some switches blow the player up, or block a path instead of clear one.

Bride building. One of the most basic. Create a stream with a broken bridge (i.e., only one piece of the bridge is there). Have some logs hidden somewhere on the map, to be brought to the broken bridge and fix it in order to cross it.

Some puzzles from commercial games are also possible. Take FF6 for example. In one dungeon, you reach a room where a light appears and follows a set path through a rocky room. Following the path it showed leads to the exit. Going the wrong way would result in a battle, and having to start over in the room. Luckily enough, there is a "sparkly light" graphic available in RPGM1.

Vonwert. Look for Vonwert's games. Cursed Desires.

You're right, Ixzion. Actually, I just finished playing Vonwert's RPGM3 "Whispers in the Woods." It had lots of interesting little puzzles and brainteasers in it. I'm sure his RPG Maker 1 game is good.
