This is a fairly simple tip, that some may already use, but here it is for those that don't anyway:

When making an NPC in the game I tend to have Q&A, Val-Conditional, and Decision Branches galore (or when I make events, I have effects, displays, and all sorts of property changes). This eats up plenty of space on your, relatively small, limit of 50 event slots. Well, I go over 50 all the time nowadays, and it occured to me that there could be others with severly limited conversations/events thanks to this strange limitation. And then I figured I might as well share it. So here it is:

Say your writing an event code for an NPC or Standard Event. Now, this NPC/Event has some in-depth processes going on and you are eating away at the event keys, what happens if you have lots left to do after 50 keys?

Well, once you've gotten your event list up to 49, make your 50th event an Event Transitions key. This is at the top of the Control sub-menu, with Q&A branch and such.

When you select the option "Event Transition" the game will ask you to select the item to transition to, you must make a 2nd item in the same space to use. This 2nd item can be another person, a dog, or even a treasure chest. So long as it uses events, it doesn't matter. So make your 2nd object, and use it in the 1st objects "event transitions" key.

Now KEEP IN MIND, it has to be on the same map space. Meaning that if the second item isn't the same room or area as the 1st one, this WILL NOT work.

So once you've got your 2nd item made, continue your conversation/event process on it. The Event transition you made in your 1st item will immediately pick up whatever mode you have set in your 2nd item. So it is bassically just a way to get another 50 keys to use. Most people don't use RM3 for that much programming, but, as I like to milk a system for all its worth, I do.

And, the beautiful thing about this little tip, is that you can keep going. If you've used up all 50 in the 2nd item (not really likely, but hey)-just repeat it in a 3rd, and so on.

So, there it is. Some may already know it, and others may not use that many events, but just a little FYI action. [/list]

I noticed a while ago that with Modes the script line limit is equal to RPGM2.

20 modes times 50 lines = 1000 lines of script per event.

The same limit as "per script" in 2.

Peace.

Yeah, but this is more for continual events, rather than seperate mode instances. It is nice to have 20 seperate modes though.
