Just out of curiosity, I was looking in the game vault, and I noticed that the cover art from the RPG Maker 3 box says "Special Edition" on it. I've seen that before, but I was wondering if there is actually a special edition of RPG Maker 3, or is that just something that never made the actual game cover? The two RPG Maker 3 games I have do not say "Special Edition" on them. I've been wondering this for a long time, but seeing it again today reminded me that I never found out. It's probably nothing, but does anyone know? The cover box art at agetec doesn't show "special edition."

Huh, I hadn't noticed that it was missing. But as far as I remember, it was called "Special Edition" because it had HDD support, which the Japanese version didn't. It wasn't all that special, so I guess they wound up removing it from the box art.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. Thanks. Yeah, apparently the Hard Drive doesn't do much of substance anyway.

Yeah, the HDD is just to speed up loading times, which actually aren't too bad.

I have a HDD and I copied the game to the HDD with HD loader and the load times are super fast. Although when I move around town it still kinda lags some time :/

The lags aren't caused by loading time. The PS2 is trying to do too much at once.

As far as I know of there isn't much of an improvement with loading times at all. Only places where it is enough of an improvment are when it comes to loading graphics when editing and loading images/backgrounds in storyteller, but that's because those weren't long in the first place and now the loading time is practically nonexistant. But going in/out of towns and battles still has a bit of a loading time to deal with. (Personally, I don't think any RPG should have loading times for battles more than a second or two in length.)
