Darn, I hate it when I find videos that want to stop to buffer every few seconds instead of letting me view the whole thing in one shot.

The logo is interesting, but seems to last a little longer than necessary. After the logo appears, it should go to the title screen after only three or four seconds. I didn't count, but it seemed to last ten seconds in the video. Also, that effect after you "press any button" also lasts a little long.

Videogamedrome...related to Videodrome, right? Or is it just a coincidence?

Yup. It is sort of related to Videodrome.

But only very loosely.

The drawn out nature of the two spots Draygone mentioned were intentional.

Part of the annoying mood of Videodrome carrying over to the game.

The whole game should not play out in more than the length of the movie, so I let the overly long pauses alone.

It's really only a couple seconds , but it does seem longer.
