So, I mentioned I was making an RPGM game for the Halloween contest over at the Pav. It kept me busy most of last week, so that's where I was.

It's finally in a state where I would say it's absolutely finished.

Operation: Trick-or-Treat

Download Link w/RTP:

Download Link w/o RTP(if you already have the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP):

http://www.sendspace.com/file/f850yi

Final Dollar Edition Download includes:

-Game

-Game Manual(.PDF, SNES Manual Dimensions)

-One Piece of Concept Art

-Poster Art(about the size of a sheet of paper)

A quick scavenger game, Operation: Trick-or-Treat follows the adventure of Paula and her two children as they attempt to search for money around the house to order a pizza in a financial pickle. If the kids can’t find enough cash, Paula isn’t going to let them simply Trick-or-Treat and have candy for dinner alone. Will the kids be able to receive treats this year? Or is this Halloween night full of tricks?

It should take you roughly 25-30 minutes to finish the game. It is a pretty short game, considering the development started way late into the contest. I didn't think I was going to enter, but I'm really glad I did. This is also my first RPGM release... ever.

Hope you dig!

I loved the RTP in this game. Why can't I ever find map tiles as awesome as that!?

You can!:D It's from the official site store. It's one of the modern tilesets(but it does require RPGM VX or VXA).

I like it alright... but I honestly think there could have been so much more. I don't know if it was worth it- it was definitely alright. I still think the Fridge and Washer/Dryer especially are jarring in style next to a couple of the other objects in the set- but it was cobbed together from the works of two very talented and nice people from the official site that both mod.

In my big ol' game baby project(tm) I'm going to try making my own tilesets and everything. And no chibi characters, either. But, that will be a while. I definitely do not want to go with the first human models I've come up with, but it was valuable practice. Those are in the Creativity forum. But, on the whole environment/architectural tiles, those will be so hard. I love making the objects, though.

Congratulations on finishing your first game since RPG Maker became a thing 12 years ago! :p

I really like the title screen you made. It's cute. I'll try to take a peek when I can.
