During your fight with the Joker, it looked as though everyone was teaming up on the Fairy on the far right. Which kind of goes against the idea that the lead character takes the majority of the damage.

Actually, the fairy took two hits the entire battle. It only went down because it got hit by a critical. Before then, the second party member had already taken six hits.

So, I just got through with an interesting conversation at an LP site. Posted the LPisode I just did. Here's what went down.

Person 1 wrote:
I stopped at the part where you started to fast forward. Sorry, but this just isn't very good. The video quality isn't very good, your commentary isn't anything special and it doesn't look like you do very much editing (although I may be wrong).

Anyway, I wasn't very impressed by this.

Draygone wrote:
Wait, what was wrong with the video quality? Looks pretty clear to me. And the framerate seems decent.

What about my commentary was so bad that you were able to judge it from the first couple minutes?

Person 2 wrote:
A person decides within the first 10 seconds whether or not they want to watch your video all the way through. Which means that he got a few extra minutes in out of charity.

If you are going to question feedback on flaws by refuting them without evidence (because evidence kinda has it against you anyways) then get the hell out of this thread. We're here to tell you the problems with your video so you can improve, but if you don't want our help then GET OUT.

Gee, thanks for the help. :shakefist

I don't know why I keep trying to go there. They never like what I do. I know I need to improve, but they're never a real help.

The site in question: http://www.letsplayforum.com/viewtopic. ... 650#p51650

I read the posts after yours and man... what asshats. 10 seconds? That's a bit ridiculous. I always watch the first full episode of anyone's LP before I decide if I want to continue or not. And I want to know as well what was wrong with your video quality. It looks just as good as anyone else. And what is this guy's problem with fast forwarding? Is he trying to say he's prefer to see something that is arduous and repetitive take up half the video time?

Man, just don't listen to them. They are all retarded. You don't need the approval of a hypocritical elitist LP community.

Well, I had to seek approval in order to be allowed to post there. I want to expand my audience, you see.

So, I'm getting over my laziness a little bit, and am finally getting around to making the next LP ready. So, expect Whispers on Wednesday.

Okay. That failed. Let's just go back to "it'll be up eventually".

What also failed was that whole "mini-sodes" thing I tried with The Spiteful Dead, and I'm tired of that mess being in my videos, so I'm re-uploading Spiteful Dead Ep11-23 in wholes. It means losing all the views and comments they recieved (unless you wanted to painstakingly copy your comments to the newer versions for some reason), but whatever.

So, the first episode of Whispers is done, sans a slight bit of fine-tuning I'll do to one clip. However, I am unable to do a darn thing, 'cause less than 24 hours upon finishing the episode, my computer died, taking everything except my hard drive. Dodged a bullet, there. It would've sucked HARD had I lost all that work I put into it. Not that it's an especially fancy-pants episode. But that title card took me weeks to get around to drawing up, and losing it so soon after finally getting to it would've been a punch in the gut.

So, it'll be a while before I'm able to upload it. Gotta get a new computer built.

The real creepy thing is, this computer lasted the same amount of time as my last one: three years, almost on the dot.

Wow... you should try a different company of computer then.

My uncle says the issue might be that I've got it in a hole, and I should try having it in a more open space.

You mean one of those tall drawers in a desk to hide tower in? I absolutely hate those things. And it's very much true that the temperature your computer works in directly relates to it's life-span. And inside one of those little cubby-holes, it retains a good deal of heat. My mom does that too, and she's already having trouble with her computer... one that I had personally built for her. And I've never had a lick of trouble with any of the one's I've put together.

Gosh, this is taking too long.

Okay, for those who are wondering, the reason I've been able to post is because I'm on my grandparents' computer.

I still don't have a new one. Still haven't ordered one. I had one in mind, and was probably about to get it, until I realized that I've got a couple dozen Windows Movie Maker files that won't work on Windows 7's edition (I tried), and none of the models I've found sell Vista (which I used) anymore. Kinda strange that anybody would want to stick with Vista, I'm sure, but I haven't much of a choice.

Now, as I said before (I think), my hard drive was the only thing to survive. Far as I'm aware, you can't just take an old hard drive and slap it into a new computer. It won't recognize the new hardware, or something like that. But my hard drive is partitioned, and in the second partition, I believe was the installation program for Vista. If I can, I'd want to back up all my important files, reformat the main partition, and use the installation program to reinstall Vista in a new machine, then putting the backup files back on disk. The people I am trying to have help me get a new computer can't seem to understand this, and they're all "no, you should do this and that." It's frustrating.

Worst case scenario, I'm hoping, is that it's not an installation file and I have to buy a new copy of Vista. Which they also can't seem to grasp. It's frustrating.

I really wish I had my own computer again. Was bad enough that I was in a lazy streak, but to finally get out of that lazy streak only to have my computer die sucked. And now that I can't work on anything, my lazy streak has made a comeback. It's frustrating.

I'm just glad I've already got all the source files ready for use when I finally do have my own computer again. It'll make it very easy to jump back into the swing of things.

Go download and install Movie Maker 2.6 as it works on XP, Vista, and 7. That's what I was using until I went back to Sony Vegas.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

As for what I would recommend, I'd say go grab a cheap little 15 dollar external hard drive case and hook up your old hard drive with the data you want off of it and put it in the case. Then just copy it over from the hard drive to the new computer.

THEN I would recommend manually formatting your now external hard drive and using that as a backup so this won't ever be a problem again.

The only thing we'd need to know for sure is if it's a IDE hard drive or a SATA hard drive.

SETA.

And if the Vista version of Movie Maker can still be downloaded somewhere and run on Windows 7, that is very useful knowledge. Too bad that one sale ended... :P

That link in my last post was to version 2.6 and it's free. It's the same download I used to the version I use now.

And if you want some recommendations for external enclosures for SATA drives, here's one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

But if you want to browse around, just look for SATA external enclosures.

Good news: we (my uncle and I) were able to recover my files.

So, my computer came in today! :D

Except, nobody was here to answer the door at the time, so they kept it and will try again Tuesday. :(

Can't you go pick it up? Or call and schedule a loose time to deliver?

They're an hour's drive away, and they're closed Sunday and Monday.
