Loved the ending of the last episode there. Also, I'm going to be playing the game myself. It's lazy of me to just sit there an watch the entire thing. It desirves a bit more attention than that.

Okay, about your youtbe video:

I pretty much do all my recording with a screen recorder and I play from emulators. The only other games I'd LP with capture card would be current gen consoles, and I don't think I'd be willing to sacrifice wide screen and HD picture for an LP of a game that people are more or less playing at the time... so there'd be almost no reason to watch it. I'd like to see someone new to the LP scene take it, personally. You know... expand our numbers.

Speaking of which, I plan to join you in RPG Maker LPs. I'm not sure when, but I'll eventually start.

As for a video editor, AVS4you is a pretty cheap but perfectly funtional video editing software. My boss uses it and he has shown it to me a bit. So give that a look-see. It's much cheaper than Vegas. As for hardware... I'm honestly not really up to par with audio devices. So your guess is about as good as mine. I stick with what I got.

And finally, I have no idea why people don't watch your LPs. Out of everyone here, I think you've got the makings of making it big in the LP community. There are a few viddler LPers that get over a grand in views within the first week of a video... and I can't figure out why.

The only thing I can tell you is to do it because you want to... at least that's what I tell myself. And I know it's not much saying that, but what can you do?

Let's Play "The Spiteful Dead" Ep10 - Shattered Lives, part III

Our heroes finally manage to reach the little girl locked in the storage building. However, it may be that the rescuers have become the ones in need of rescuing.

This is the epitome of the entire Let's Play. If you were only willing to watch one LPisode, this is the one. It features a little of everything that makes this game good. Both the humorous and serious natures of the plot, a mini-game and puzzle, a couple boss battles, and we throw in a couple regular encounters for good measure.

Also featured: How to make poison a useful status effect.

Two weeks later and I'M BACK. I was a bit currious if you were going to upload all the videos before I had finished or not, but I did. Yay. But yeah... just letting you know that just over two weeks later, and I'm done. So back to watching the LP.

Beat the game, did you? You'll have to say what you thought. I'm sure Xisthruos wouldn't mind seeing some extra feedback.

Well in that case: I found the game to be, as you said Dray, one of the best RM1 titles at the Mag. There was a huge ammount of detail put in to just about every location. And to keep spoilers at a minimum, let's just say I that then end fo the game, while I did have a bit of trouble (probably due to me being a bit too care-free with my items) I found that this was one of the best uses of RM1's in game combat.

Character development was done very very well and the ending I didn't really see coming. I did kind of get a little tired of all the cursing as it was a little over-done. I understand that language like that could be used to better give off a characters emotion... but there is such things as too much of a good thing (if you want to even call it a 'good' thing).

I think this game's strongest point outside the mentioned was the detailing of all the areas. I thought that just about every area of the game, specially towards the end (but there were some other good times like the library that you already pointed out, Dray). The only time I had any issue with it was the streets. It ended up kind of looking a bit crazy and looked more like an old NES cart messing up than it did damage being done to a street. Besides, in a zombie appocolyps, I don't think zombie's goal would be to destroy as much asphault as possible... so I think the roads would pretty much go untouched.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it... and if ever Xithros picked up another project, I'd highly anticipate it's release.

I still need feedback on my LPing. I just recently tried joining a site made for LPs, and a common complaint was video length. I know someone at the Pav said something about it a couple weeks ago. I need to know what you guys think would be a better episode length to shoot for.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. I'd really like to expand the audience beyond the RPG Maker community, and the best way to do that is to make it interesting enough that people will actually want to talk about what they're seeing. So let's go with that. What would I have to do to make you more interested in watching and commenting on these?



Not if the folks in this one LP forum have anything to say about it. Oh well, LPs of RPGM games are best left for RPGM users, anyway.

Honestly, I think most LPs are too short. People will spend an hour watching some of the stupidest sh*t on TV, but watching a awesome game for an hour is too much? My ass.

People are so burnt out on the 10 minute time limit at youtube that they think THAT'S normal. When the truth of the matter is, if you are catching up on a LP on youtube... you'll watch several back to back. So I hardly see the problem here.

True, I did notice a lot of LPs there were hosted on YouTube. And yet they keep saying "YouTube's time limit sucks". Dang hipocrates.

Another thing I had considered, though, was that instead of having a shorter video, I could split each episode into three our four pieces, so those who don't have the time can watch whatever amount they can at their convenience.

Due to technical difficulties and me having a lousy week (partly due to those technical difficulties), as well as the holidays coming up, Episode 11 of Let's Play "The Spiteful Dead" has been delayed until January.

What? We have to wait till NEXT YEAR? OMG! NUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuu......

I'm thinking I'll resume airing the LP next week. I had hoped to wait until the Pavilion had a front page, again, but I gotta get this finished so I can finally move on to the next game (best-case scenario, March). Not like this hasn't been not front-paged there, before.

Ah man... that's awesome. I've been waiting for this since 2009!

Let's Play "The Spiteful Dead" Ep11 - Picking Up the Pieces

Benjamin has been taken away, Robert is seriously injured, and Alicia has collapsed. But thanks to a couple of friends, our heroes are able to recover.

Introduced in this episode: RPG Maker's trading system. Takes a bit of figuring out at first, but it is a welcome feature.

Also note that this episode has been split into four "mini-sodes". The idea is experimental, and in hopes that some folks might be more willing to watch and comment on these LPs if they weren't looking in the face of a single massive video. No need to watch it all in one sitting, and you have a few places where you can take a break if you need to. Does it work? Let me know what you think!

For the record, I really don't care one way or another with the parts. I ended up watching all of them in one sitting anyways, so if it were split or not was of no importants to me. Oh, and just so you know, I was quite curious what 'fatigues' were too.
