Curious. How many of you would import it in an attempt to show Agetec just how much we really want it? It's a Japanese game, sure, but we have a few options we could use to play it.

And I believe there's this one import device that'll allow you to run import games even if your console doesn't support them.

I myself am definately considering it. Even though nobody would be able to play anything I make on it unless they also owned an import copy. But I'm also wondering if I should wait a bit longer to see if Agetec ever surprises us with an announcement, just in case.

If I was 100% sure it would atleast show Agetec that we like RPGT4, I would import it.

Like if we all imported it and then put them all in a box and sent it to Agetec with a petition.

no, japanese makers are of no use to me. further, i would say that agetec wont get any inkling with just a few people importing a game (even a hundred people). dont forget that the business world operates on numbers, not petitions, not begging, not by mass displays of mock convincing. if the financial benefit is there then agetec will do it, but it does not seem that its here (they have already discovered that console makers dont make a lot of money).

And yet they brought us four console Makers, and other "Designer Series" games. Sure, money is a part of it, but they also know they have a fanbase. The only reason we haven't had a new console RPGM in a while is because Enterbrain hasn't made any more. RPG Tsukuru 4 is the only direction we could go at this point, and our interest in getting it is new. Agetec can't just up and decide to start localizing it and have something to show ina couple days, or even a couple weeks. I mean, how long did it take to localize the others? (No, really, I forget.)

I have all the hookups (actually two ps1 games that are designed to play import games), so I would buy one, without hestitation.

Certainly not a complete guide. If anybody would be able to give furthur a translation, it would be awesome. And if you're really getting it, then so am I, even if I do have to use ePSXe. I mean, it's only $20. Way better than if you tried importing one of the PC RPGMs.

I wish I could say I would. I'm definitely interested in it, but I'm not sure I would at the moment.

Edit: Can't find any selling RPGT4. Guess we just wait for another one to turn up at Play-Asia.

Double-post, I know. But if you get an account at Play-Asia, there's an option where you can request to track RPGT4 down (saparate from the option that notifies you if a copy comes in, which doesn't require an account). I saw 20 copies available at Amazon Japan for 700 yen and up, so while it isn't guarenteed they'll get a new copy, it's not impossible for them to find one.

I already took advantage of this. I just gotta be quick to the grab, because I'll still have to make the order when it appears.

I'm not really up for old RPGMs. While I understand that if you are a fan of the original in the US you may want this, but I am more a fan of RPGM2 and RPGM3 which means that I'd rather spend my time playing other peoples games and making my own on those games until RPGM4 for the US comes out. Even if there is not RPGM4 in the works, I'm still not finished with RPGMs 1,2,or 3 (US versions).

Technically, if RPGT4 came out here, it would be RPG Maker 4. And it's more powerful than RPG Maker 1 or 3, yet probably on the same level of difficulty as RPGM1. And RPGM1 isn't really very difficult. Probably the easiest of the console RPGMs, actually.

The way that I see it is that any game that I would want to make with older graphics I can do with RPGM and any game that I want to make with complete control I could do with RPGM 2 (if my damn disc would read).

I prefer the ease, graphics, music, and style of RPGM3 even with it's limitations, so I have no interest in another RPGM unless it is RPGM4 as a new game that has to follow the acts of 1,2, and 3.

So what I'm saying is that I would genuinely be happy for you if they bring it here because you want it, but I have no use for it since I am happy with 1,2,and 3, so I can't really sign up for myself. Now can I sign up for you all? Maybe, but again, I'd rather the community focus more on 1,2,and 3 and wait for RPGM4 that was created after 3.

Unless I misunderstood, there will be no new RPGMs in Japan, because Enterbrain got rid of their RM team recently. All the more reason we could use RPG Tsukuru 4.

I absolutely intend to import this once we have a definable purpose. We need to do something selfless and drastic to get agetec's attention, and I honestly don't think a bunch of receipts is gonna do it.

I still think we should gather as many copies as possible and send them to agetec. If we get enough support for this idea I will go on record promising to contribute $100 to the import costs. For this idea to work we should set a goal of importing at least 25 copies and sending them to agetec. That should help in getting some attention.

But that won't be enough. We also need to give concrete examples of how this will make them money. Its still business. We have to remember that. We should try to see exactly who has rights to the IP in the US (yes, yes, agetec, but parent? Subsidiaries? I mean EXACTLY who do we need to deal with) and if the work is able to be contracted out, what is the best platform for the maker to be released on, etc.

We can't come off as a bunch of whiny fans and expect to be taken seriously. Especially when we are something like 30 members strong and less than half actually are interested in RPGT4.

We have to be serious. So, Ideas? Thoughts?

Unfortunately, being that RPGT4 is hard to track down and in limited quantities, the "send Agetec $100 worth of copies or so" idea isn't even possible.

What I myself intend to do if/when I get my copy is record videos and stuff in hopes of getting the attention of more people and get them excited enough that Agetec decides "well, enough people want it, let's try to bring it to them". Maybe not the best strategy, but I'm going to do what I can.

Actually, Dray... I have software to record that myself. I can go ahead and get videos and, like you said, record tracks off of it to load at the mag.

Though, I do have quite a bit on my plate right now... who knows.
