Driven by pure nostalgia, I've started screwing aound with good ol' RPGM, and rather then starting anew, I've decided to work on my previous creation, Hell bent. Yeah, I started working on it spring/summer 2003, stopped, worked on it a little last summer, stopped, and now I've felt like working on it some more, hopefully making a completed gane, but at this rate, It will be done late 2010 >_>.

If you haven't heard of it before, It's a dark comedy, not for the easily offended, with custom graphics, and an inane story ... You can read the review of the demo I released here: http://www.freewebs.com/rpgmclub/review_hellbent.htm Anyway, I'll try to stay around here at the mag, post updates on the game, and whatnot. Umm... Ok. *end post*

Yeah, I hear you on that one. I've been working on the Mag a lot, and I really want to get back to my game. But when you're the boss, you gotta give up a lot.

By the way, I believe we have a bunch of pictures of that game in the Game Vault.

As I've said before, welcome to the Mag.

Yeah, they're on there. I'm going to work on improving some of the cusom garphics, (namely the main charcter... ugh.) and I think it might go more smoothly, now that I'm older and wiser. Also, I plan on not overdoing it. Maybe an hour or two a day, more on weekends. I used to do it a lot, and it would bore me. I should also plan it out, instead of making up most of the crap as I go along... of course leaving room for improvising when I get a good idea during creation.

Alright, I went back to work with it today. I'm trying to polish what I've already made, before going into making new area. There's a lot of places with minor to moderate glitches, and there is a lot of events that should be set to "check" instead of "touch."

I also need to work on the dialogue, badly. Although it's a comedy, I want it to be the best RPG it can be, and the dialogue that isn't meant to be joking, is laughable in quality. And it's not the same good laughs as the joking dialogue gets. I'm hoping that by the end of the week I'll have this demo portion of my game polished, again.

The main character's sprite is also laughably horrific. I'm working on one on my comp to be converted with RPGC, but it doesn't feel completely right to me. It can't even come close to any of the built-in sprites, or sprites craeted by good custom artists. Oh well.

Maybe if I can get everything polished, I'll release another, improved demo. I'm aiming for the game to be completed by mid-september, coinciding with the deadline of the Pav contest #3.

Can't you get some graphics that someone may have used from the PC RPG Makers? Why not look for some of those, unless its illegal. :)

Aren't those small glitches a pain!? Man I know what you mean. You think that the scene is perfect then you test play and you find a small glitch. Then you're like this scene is done now, but you find another one upon test play. They just sprout up like weeds.

Good Luck.

I could, but I want to make my own. The reason for this is I want the main character to look somewhat like me. I acheived this slightly with my old graphic, but it was very bad quality. I might look into that though.

And yeah, It's like that with the glitches. You fix one and two more come up. It never ends :shakefist

Anyway, I continued fixing some dialogue today. I finished a new opening sequence text, and completely re-vamped the narrative hook, a scene talking to a priest. It's a little long, but I think it needed to be done. I'm trying to make the dialogue less "fleeting" before, It was like it moved too fast for yo to follow, this time, It will be better.

Yup, I'm working. It's going slowly, but I'm enjoying it. I love my creation <3 :)

I'm pretty much done with refining the dialogue and glitches, now starts the process of fixing the battle system.

Are you using the DBS for that or a CBS?

DBS, but non-random battles.

Woo-hoo. The demo v2.00 is submitted both here, and the pav.

It's very offensive, be warned, and the first 5 minutes is very reading-heavy, just to give a heads up.

Any feedback is welcome!

Oh yeah: A quick glitch note: If you talk to your brother and sister to watch the TV after you get the other two charcters, you will find that when you come back, ony one character is in your party. This can be solved, however, by buying "Last Dream 7" from the Gamestop in the mall, and playing it on the playboxcube in your room.
