RPG Maker VX is the new upcoming program from the RPG Maker series it is being developed by Enterbrain, next in the PC RPG Maker series following RPG Maker XP.

Release
RPG Maker VX is due to come out in Japan on December 27, 2007. An English version is also due to be released as a download in February 2008.

Features
Features from previous RPG Makers are making a return. An updated version of Facesets from RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 will return with more functionality. The Automatic Dungeon Creator from 2003 will also return, as well as the front-view battle system from 2000. Character sets are again split into 8 sets per file, like previous RPG Makers.

The Script Editor also makes its return from RPG Maker XP, allowing users to easily add new features to their game project or edit existing ones. The scripting language used in RPG Maker VX is RGSS2.

A "Help" function allows users to create treasure chests, doors and certain NPC's with ease. Mapping has been simplified to a degree, with the use of auto-tiles.

Yeah, we already knew about it. My favorite part is that it has a built in Journal where you can record ideas. A lot easier than opening up Notpad, or using loose leaf paper.

I also like that it's Vista compatible, because I'm mad that I can't use XP on my new laptop.
