Hey gang. I've finally uploaded the new forums for use by all. Take time and absorb this bit by bit. There's a lot of content in this.

First off, the biggest addition is the linking of the SSA with the forum accounts! Yes, I've come up with a way to link your information on the SSA with the forums. How do you link your accounts together? It's a 3 step process (if you already have an SSA).

Step 1:
Click on the "Edit SSA" button on siteside and get your "SSA ID".

Step 2:
On the forums, go into your User Control Panel and click on "Edit Profile". Scroll down until you see "SSA Name" and "SSA Password". Here, place your SSA Name (exactly as it is) and your SSA ID. Press submit.

Step 3:
Profit.

If all information is correct, it will now insert your SSA navigation bar to every page of the forums! In addition, it will also display all of your Mag Points in forum posts and other things.

The biggest thing to come from this is the inclusion of the Trophy System. Available to any member with an SSA, trophies are awarded on various criteria being met. The first many people will see are the post count ones.

Many more trophies are on the way, including ones for content done for the site (articles, reviews, etc).

There's a new arcade. The old arcade could not be saved, since the mod's creator is not on the internet anymore for some reason. But this new arcade looks awesome and has a lot of features. I've added 5 games to start off, and thankfully, adding games is a lot easier with this new one.

USER-DEFINABLE CUSTOM TITLES ARE BACK! Go ahead and put whatever you want there.

HTML no longer works. That means a good bit of broken user sigs. However, I've created BB codes that will get around that, so use them well.

The new forums come with a new look, as well. It's wide and all that.

As mentioned, this is the last thing I'm doing until I finish my game. So, that's it. I will post and all, but no more work. I'm delegating that to Lantis and the other moderators.

What do you think of all the changes?

It looks slick. I just have one question. Where's my icytech :(

and why when I preview a post do I not see emotes to choose from?

Edit: I see them in all but this thread in preview. I saw them in pm and in mag online. Just thought I would mention that. And I still don't see them in this thread as I edit this post.

icyTech is dead until I can get Chrssy to come back and remake the pieces of it I would need to fit this new form.

And as far as I know, I can preview emotes fine. :p

Argh, I feel to lazy to fix sig right now...
Nice work. Personally, it looks too different, and it will take me a while to get used to it. Time to start the healing process!
EDIT: I think I already got used to it. go figure.

Congrats?

By the way, many of you will need to reupload your avatars. I have no idea why this is.

step 2: resend all forum images back to me so i can resize or rework or remake somethign else...

Step3: gl getting ahold of me ;D

but also..why cant u reuse images? >> like...im pretty sure u can use the main rpgmmag page images to make a new forum, or at least try to scale the width of the forums down oO

edit: uhh maybe not..unless u still have that upload page where i had most of the images. but idunno what im talking bout so wootwootwootwoot *rolls down a hill*

Wow, this'll take some getting used to. All of a sudden, the Mag is spanning across my entire screen.

Quote:
HTML no longer works.

Well that explains the mess of code in my LP topic. :P

*suddenly realizes that he's going to have to sort through all that and get working links*

...Well, crud.

Also, I kinda want that red ice back. Or whatever it was. NeoMag? There's too much grey, not enough contrast. And my avatar fails on grey. :(

Why is the "view new posts" option not updating when I've already viewed new posts? That's gonna make sorting through all these new posts rather difficult. Unless there's an option I'm missing in my profile somewhere.

I like it, it feels like I have room to breath now.
I'm no expert when it comes to giving websites facelifts, but I'm sure there was some hard work involved. Nice job Ixzion!

@Chrssy

Yes, I could reuse what I have, but it would require scaling down the forums. Having said that, perhaps I can do something about that. I will likely install more styles and people can then pick and choose what they would prefer.

I take it <p align="center"> is one HTML you couldn't convert to BBcode.

And is there a way to make it so posts made today and yesterday say "Today" and "Yesterday" before? Made it a lot easier to find where I left off.

Nevermind on this. Apparently it's different in that it shows new posts since last logout. Which means I just lost track of every new post since before the upgrade.

*goes back to hunting new posts the old-fashioned way*

Although it at least remembers the new posts while browsing the forums properly.

Oh yeah, Draygone beat me to it -that "Today" and "Yesterday" feature was really useful.

Also, I'm not sure what it was called before, (Forum Index I think?) I'm just gonna assume it's the "Board Index" option now. ;P

I really should be paying more attention to these features and how they work. While it's still a bummer that it doesn't remember unread posts leftover from my last login (least not in the new posts page), I noticed that new posts I have read are no longer hilighted in the new posts page. I'm okay with that.

"View active topics" is proving more useful, though, 'cause it's including topics I couldn't get to before my last logoff.
